Dronarivm sums up the year 2013 with '15 Shades of White' CD compilation.  15 tracks that are different in atmosphere and sound are united by a common winter mood.  Winter is a favorite season of philosophers and introvert dreamers, a territory of remembrances and quiet reflections, where nonlinear time allows to bring together the disparate fragments of memories and create a multi-layered collage of pieces of the future, present and past.  Neoclassical pianos, hypnotic strings, light strokes and soft undertones leave a quirky musical pattern on the glass of eternity. I had dinner with my filmmaker friend Ryan, when he told me he was going to Iceland. I asked if he would let me use some of his footage. It was a perfect fit to work with footage from Iceland - Elskavon was named with two combined Iceland words (Elska meaning "love" and von meaning "hope"), which was a tip of the hat to Sigur Ros, my main influence when first starting to write ambient music. I even title one song from every album in Icelandic.

Offers of Peace

Classically trained pianist and composer Carlos Cipa returns with Sculptures, a piano-solo mini-album, right in time for some calm and quiet winter days.
Most of 2017, Carlos has been working on his next full-length album, a colourful record combining piano and other key instruments with a variety of orchestral instruments and electronically processed soundscapes, which will see the light of day in 2018. In between writing scores for musicians and long recording sessions, he often found himself sitting on his upright piano late at night, messing around with simple melodies or patterns as a distraction.
Recorded in his very own Beatschuppen Studio over a couple of days in November, Sculptures brings a few of these raw, intimate song fractures to life and places them alongside three brand mark pieces of Carlos Cipa’s second album, re-recorded on his peculiar Upright piano for the first time.

He is obsessed with the search for new and unique qualities in music - the amazing, the magical and the deep. In dreams, there's no imagined thing that's too absurd, too strange, and Bruno Sanfilippo's music comes from that inexhaustible and shameless source.

Aaron Martin’s album "A Room Now Empty" sees him returning to the memory-based recordings of previous albums such as "Almond", "River Water" and "Chautauqua", where layered meanings in the music and titles don’t allow a single clear-cut reading of the music.

“A Room Now Empty is similar to the concept of Day Has Ended where Christoph Berg and I created music to encompass the passing of a day, but stretched out for the passing of a lifetime or at least a portion of a lifetime,” says Aaron.

Using cello, electric guitar, bass, roll up piano, banjo, concertina, acoustic guitar, voice, ukulele, singing bowls and lap steel, "A Room Now Empty" keeps the same intimacy and directness of Aaron’s previous albums, with a slightly more processed sound creating distance within the music.
