Juno Download Review: Review: As always with the Big Fat Mama Beats crew, the vibes are plentiful with their latest release drop, which sees the one they call Leygo return with four tracks packed with pure fire across the first edition of 'Shake N Break'. We begin with the ghoulish vocal sampling and scattered breakbeat drum designs of 'Get It Tonight', followed closely by the more funk influenced vocal lines and tearout reese basses of 'Music'. From here we galavant into the sharpened synthesizer writhings and chomping percussion of 'Rock Me Baby', before rounding off with 'Vital Signs', a blissful exploration into nostalgic keys and grizzly drum scatters!

A few weeks after his comeback on Timewarp Music with his release You Gotta Feel It, Jayl Funk is back with a new two track single titled Take It Easy. This new release continues the story of Jayl Funk's journey through funk, soul and disco. 

Take It Easy opens the release with warm funky beats and soul disco vibes. The song is constructed with a huge fusion baseline, vocal chops triggered by fat beats, disco strings with a groovy clav and a classic house piano mesmerising theme that brings the funk to the dancefloor with a nice feeling. 

The Other Dj brings a four on the floor nu disco and nu funk groove with old school hiphop voice chops, clever brass hits and flute lines, that brings us back to the era of those missed funky old days. With a few words this track will give you a spice of an uplifting killer funk-disco with a hiphop mood.

German funk-breaks don Jayl Funk serves up two contrasting but complementary cuts on this latest outing for Greece's Timewarp Music. 'Take It Easy' itself is a classic-style funk jam with a distinctly jazzy twist to its lounge-y male scatted vox and bright piano chords - the kind of cut that summer poolside sessions were made for. 'The Other DJ', meanwhile, comes much more obviously from the funk-breaks school of thought, opening with a spoken vocal sample and heading down the cut 'n' paste route throughout, with some scratch sounds thrown in for good measure. Party-startin' stuff for sure.

New week, new NDYD Radio episode which is a tad late - but for a good reason. As you probably heard or saw in the news that the west coast of the USA is getting plummet with rain and parts are flooded. Of all weekends I decide to go visit a friend up north without checking the weather first and got stuck there cause all the trains home to LA were canceled or delayed. I couldn't record the show since I wasn't home and when I finally returned I had to take care of all my work projects which were late. I found some time today and for something put together on the fly I think it came out pretty good and is one of my favorite so far. Tons of new underground gems that take you real Deep which is the opposite of what I am trying to do in all of this rain ha ha.
