We've been wanting to play a dope sexy pool party for a long time now.  This came together on a humid 95 degree day at the Cadillac of campouts.  The vibe we were going for was sweaty, sexy, dirty, party music; but we were reaching deep into our crates to pull out all the songs of years past that we've wanted to hear in a bassy, half-naked, poolside setting.  So forgive us if you've heard some of these in the past, but we were particularly stoked on how the mixing worked out. 

So kick back, turn up the heat, put on that sexy number you've been waiting to show off, and put THIS in your pina colada.

GriffinGrrl x Audio Angel - The Unveiling

They are Jake McCaffery and Aaron King, better known as the Breakspoll Award-winning duo Se7en Deadly Breaks, and we're absolutely thrilled to have them in The Armory this week! Press play. Get down. 

Aaron & Jake joined forces back in 2007 to form Se7en Deadly Breaks as they both had a passion for underground music and an even bigger passion to be the ones behind the decks.

Whilst the pair was making there mark in and around Berkshire they also had shows on two of the biggest pirate radio stations in London and the west London area PointBlank FM & Flex FM which took the attention of some well known names in the scene including Deekline & Wizard, Pure SX, Pyramid, Jigga Flo, Sneaky D, CodeBreaker and Ben & Lex to name a few.

Se7en Deadly Breaks have quickly became a well known name because of the party's and event's they have played & also Radio but more importantly because of the music selection they play and the way they both have similar mixing styles behind the decks with their scratching, edits, loops and the way they switch up into genres they know how to rock a party!

Se7en Deadly Breaks have been hitting big club events in London which have seen them play along side there idols in the Breakbeat world such as Deekline, Stanton Warriors, Pyramid, Ed Solo, High Rankin, Hostage & Jurrasik to name a few. They have also Headlined the 2012 Hot Cakes Break Beach Festival in Spain and are set on course to continue growing strong as DJ's & two best friends loving what they do and the people they meet on this musical journey they are on.

Now with the lads 1st release on Deekline's BOOTY BREAKS label in November 2012 "Superman" hitting NUMBER ONE in the TOP 100 BREAKS CHART on BEATPORT they are set for a big future. 

And now in the new year of 2013 they won the award of Breakthrough DJ at the 12th International Breakbeat Awards and have the full support from some huge names in the scene including, Deekline, Stanton Warriors, Lady Waks, Ben & Lex, Pyramid, Ed 209.

Due to playa-related electrical difficulties, the original recording of this authentic Hoe Down set was lost. I have however made every effort to recreate the original: I left an hour late; rode 45 minutes through dark, treacherous and rebar-laden sand; got lost at a terrible fake hoe down; course corrected; rolled up bathed in sweat and panic stricken; dumped a container full of fresh playa dust on my gear, chugged three fingers of Jameson and pressed Play. Yeaaaaaah baby! That's how we do it. =)

Huge thanks to the Space Cowboys and Cowgirls for the massive commitment of love, energy and hard work it takes to make shit happen out there and of course for the opportunity to play; it was a long-time dream of mine and of course did not disappoint. The setup was nothing short of legendary, delivered down a near-vertical cliff to a secluded pebble beach with a breathtaking view of the idyllic Olympic Peninsula! 🌊🏞️
From Noon until Midnight, the beats were thumping, the smiles beaming, and the dancing absolutely unstoppable! 🕺💃 Tents popped up like magic, vibrant Jellyfish art lit up the scene, shades provided the perfect chill spots, and the astroturf dance floor was alive with energy! 🔥✨
Fire spinners dazzled us, bubbles floated through the air, swimmers frolicked, the BBQ sizzled, and a boat gently rocked in the background. This was no ordinary party—this was a world-class DJ location turned into a paradise! 🌟🎶 Enjoy my closing set! A paragon of existence!

It was such an honor to be selected to close out Friday night at my first 3 Degrees/Unison campout. This mix is completely improvised, moving from a more "dancey" vibe to my somewhat signature late-night flow (although I'm playing a bit more organic and funky tracks and less of the progressive house). My big set riding the big OT sound system for '24 was Monday night, prime time before Marten Hørger. Playing out of our new booth re-design on it's maiden voyage was a night for big, funky, infectious bass face tracks with some other dips into acid tinged house and techno that I knew would would sound soooo good on that system in that setting. It was magic. 

I had so many tracks I wanted to play I made my way through like 25 tracks in 75 minutes.  Also entertained myself by dropping some tracks by some of our guests later in the week like Mau P & Max Styler. Thanks to some of my producer/DJ homies who stoked me on some unreleased music. Hope you enjoy this steady rockin' set.
