Acid Pauli BLD Remixes A 

Acid Pauli’s second album 'BLD' dropped earlier this year to a rapturous reception. Martin Gretschmann’s trippy opus took in various stops around the musical spectrum, yet remained committed to quality dancefloor tracks that refuse to follow any particular rule book.

This collection of remixes of the album's A side (hence the name) only adds to that achievement - bringing yet more new flavours and takes from some of the most exciting names in the underground.

'Abbebe' gets a rework from Sainte Vie who brings his trademark ‘multicultural electro’ sound to the album's opener, and produces an ecstatic mid-paced groover for the heads.

Oceanvs Orientalis drops a similarly exciting rerub, finding new angles and dimensions to the track 'Baris'.

Tel Aviv’s Red Axes turn up the psychedelica for the duo’s amazing dissection of 'Ayam' - deep sounds immersed in acidic tones and tight-yet- wonky arrangements.

Lastly 'Majid' gets the treatment from label co- head Nico Stojan who produces a sleek and spacy remix that will delight the early morning ravers.

This is a mix I recorded 3 years ago to promote an event at Wolf Sheep Arthouse. I never put it up on my Soundcloud but it was on Wolf Sheep's for a while. Since then I've had a lot of people ask me where they could find it or tell me it was one of their favorites. I've always loved this mix because i tried to put together something a little more eclectic and different from my usual style. Over the years, his sound has developed into his own brand of storytelling: it is organic and deep, criss-crossing different genres and styles with skill and an innate sense for the energy on the dance floor. Never afraid to include shamanic and traditional tribal elements into his sets, he has been known to take listeners on journeys through colorful atmospheres and throbbing beats, showing a deep instinct for timing and suspense as he paints a vivid picture for the inner eye to see.

Downtempo reminds me to decelerate, to take out the haste of my life, the ever so bustling activity and strive. Slow electronic styles remind me about one of my favorite spiritual principles: to back-pedal (Innehalten) whenever it is possible. This can also mean to listen to the space, the calm, peace and potential between two thoughts.

Or just listening to beats and melodies, to immerse. I contrast the stressful pulsing of life and feel closer to my real self - which maybe is something close to music.
