Born and raised in Belgium, Joris Biesmans has made a remarkable journey to become a big name in the scene. His evolution from sound technician to a celebrated DJ and producer is a story of dedication, and relentless pursuit of musical excellence.
 
His early foray into music began under the moniker Cashmere, releasing music on Steve Lawler's VIVA Recordings. At the same time his formal education at the PXL Music Academy, provided him with a solid foundation in production and sound engineering. 
 
In 2013, he made the life-changing decision of moving to Berlin and secured a job as sound technician at Watergate, one of the city's iconic clubs. That role was an immersion into the heart of Berlin’s electronic scene, rather than just a job. When he wasn’t fine-tuning the club sound system, he was in the studio developing his unique sound.
 
The turning point in his career came when leaving his technician job at Watergate to focus entirely on production. As a new addition to the W-Agency roster, Biesmans released an impressive debut EP on its label, marking his official entry into the professional music world.
 
His music, characterized by joyous techno vibes and influenced by electro and space disco, started gaining traction with releases on other prestigious labels such as Correspondant or Future Disco.
 
In 2020, Joris released the Electric Love EP followed by his first full-length album, Trains, Planes & Automobiles, in 2021. This album marked a significant shift in his sound, incorporating influences from '80s synth pop and Hi-NRG. That same year, he released the Heroes After Dark EP.
 
2022 saw the release of Watergate 28, a mix including collaborations with notable artists like Kasper Bjørke, Johannes Albert, or Dusky. He produced or co-produced every track on the mix, highlighting his versatility and collaborative spirit.
 
In 2024, he kicked off the year with a new track, Blitz, marking a fresh chapter in his career. This track also served as the inaugural release for his newly launched label, MUEM Records. Its establishment signifies Biesmans’ commitment to explore new horizons and support emerging talents.

Maxwell Buckley AKA XUANXUE, is a Co-Founder of Kerfuffle Cambodia, South East Asia's Biggest Underground Party located deep in the Otres Jungle

Being born in Sydney and now residing in Melbourne (with a few stops in-between) he's currently directing his energy towards his community focused organisation 'XIII Research & Design'

The organisation is raising funds for 'Project Macondo' which aims to secure a piece of land that will operate as a long term research and design facility, to focus on creating elegant and inspiring design solutions for the many sociocultural and ecological problems we all collectively face

Maxwell and his team facilitate fundraising events to work towards their collective goal, utilising the universal power that dance music has to bring people together for a shared outcome. We were also very honoured to be a part of their previous fundraising event, and would like to thank the team for raising a huge $952 to support our annual Merri Creek Day Gathering!

Behind the decks, XUANXUE is a powerhouse DJ, who's track selection, mixing capability, and ability to take you on a captivating ride through musical styles - speaks loudly for itself. Focusing on world dance music influences with tribal and percussion focused rhythms, his sets have a distinctly unique overall journey sound, that leave you in a place far far away from where you started
