Ben will be performing live two new compositions alongside conceptual selection framed by field recordings from Antarctica with cryospheric prose written on perspective of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet and Thwaites Glacier.

EP8 - The Ice Edge that Blooms (Live+DJ Hybrid) on Netil Radio 23-1-22

Aboutface is back live on @Netilradio 12pm - 2pm (UK GMT +1) with his bi-montly live + Dj hybrid show ‘An Ocean of Ink in a Single Drop’.  EP 9, is a special collaborative performance called Qachuu Aloom (Seed is Kin), centered around a specially written poem courtesy of @duckett-1 , expertly and tenderly recited by darker. 

“We've always viewed our seed relatives as relatives and kin” - Tsosie-Peña (Santa Clara Pueblo Native American community). As when seeds thrown into a derelict industrial factory, slowly democratises the decaying steel, this episode explores how planting seeds, figuratively and literally, can be an act of resistance and solidarity, geoshaping the cinders of humanity into a new future and showing us cycles are ephemeral and change is inevitable. 

The amazing supporting animations in this artwork called ‘The Elusive Good Egg, are by @miloustella_art ’. Collaboration is key to building hope and new futures.

EP9 An Ocean Of Ink - Qachuu Aloom (seed is kin) Ft Duckett 27-3-22

The final episode of An Ocean of Ink in a Single drop EP10 - 物の哀れ Mono no Aware. Mono no aware describes the feelings of sympathy a person feels upon becoming aware of the fleeting,impermanent nature of life. Mono no aware suggests that impermanence should not just be accepted, but appreciated, often typified by the beauty of the cherry blossom (Sakura); the flower blooms intensely, yet only for a short period of time each year. As the flowers die and the petals fall, cherry blossoms line the streets like a layer of soft, pink snow, and are most beautiful when captured between the precipice of life and death.

We truly appreciate things when we accept they do not last forever.

Join me for live performances with guitar, flute , clarinet and electronics, conceptually selected music and 6 specially selected Matsuo Bashō Haikus, recorded in Japanese and English by Fumika Geary & darker.

EP10 An Ocean of Ink - Mono no aware (Live & Dj hybryd) recorded live on Netil Radio

Aboutface is back live on Netilradio.com to present An Ocean of Ink season 2 episode 1 of – D3stiny: a surreal sonic narrative based on descriptions of dreams from the collective unconscious, using music selections stitched together with creative writing and live improvised music and sound design.  When the word ‘d3stiny’ is written lucidly during a dream, it initiates a pseudo-reality personalised game experience to fulfil the objectives and complete the game. However, the closer the dreamer comes to completing the game, the more they will start to identify the game as their waking reality, causing disruptions, side effects, and the blurring of all unconscious-conscious realities. This game experience is hosted by Dream Creator 17 (dark_e_r). Time to re-enter the manifold! ✨💤✨

Aboutface is back live on Netil Radio with Season 2 EP 2 of his conceptual Live/DJ performance show ‘An Ocean of Ink in a Single Drop’. Aboutface presents a conceptual performance called: Pensée Sculpture (mind sculpture), which used sound, music and spoken word (in French) to create abstract worlds of art in our minds 🌀🌀🌀💙😵‍💫💙🌀🌀🌀.This performance will be presented by Le Sculpteur d’esprit (The mind sculptor). This performance was orginally developed for Cycardia festival, Nantes, France 20-5-23. Voice over and translation by Noemie Decaen. Time to enter the manifold!

Licht Himmel was conceived as a 14-channel-composition for the Gasometer Oberhausen, a former gas tank and now an industrial landmark. Instrumental and electronic sounds are combined with field recordings to form a composition for this special environment. The stereo version was remastered in 2012.

EP2 – An Ocean Of Ink In A Single Drop: Play To The Jellyfish (Live + DJ Netil Radio) 27 11 20

@mutate3k is a mysterious and exciting artist, originally from Riga, Latvia, but now based in London.

Artur has been curating a monthly show on Radio Sygma for the last year
(radio.syg.ma/shows/inexact), and for the most part spends his free time recording music... I'm a huge fan of his new album, "Let Me Put Myself Together" (released Jan28 on experiences ltd. (@xpltd). The album is equal parts psychedelic & beautiful.. a mesh of foggy euphoria and darker tones. This mix follows the same themes, with some musical moments of clarity and hope sprinkled throughout.  I'm excited to see what's to come from this talented one!
