'Berlin-based label AEON is celebrating its 50th release with a unique compilation called ‘VERSUS’.  

This EP features seven very special collaborations from cutting-edge artists such as Bawrut & Benjamin Fröhlich, Panthera Krause & Peter Invasion, Alex Niggemann & Speaking Minds, Kimshies & Futuristant, Darlyn Vlys & Amarcord, Biesmans & Jepe and Rina & Uriah Klapter. Label boss Alex Niggemann explains: “The idea was to get some of the core artists together, setting up collaborations that might would never have happened elsewhere and will forever stay as their first and exclusive work together.“.

Jepe, who recently released his debut EP on AEON and Biesmans, who’s been part of the team for a while, bring a more melodic touch with their Indie Dance inspired tune „Fashionably Late“. Lots of analogue synths build melodic layers to achieve a very danceable tune with an 80s reminiscent tone.'

As Connected arrives at its 3rd year of existence, the team have decided to put together a compilation of tracks old and new that showcases its musical diversity.

On this sampler are brand new remixes from Olaf Stuut, Tim Engelhardt, Stefano Ritteri, Reboot and Moscoman, and they will be released on vinyl alongside a brand new track from label heads Stereo MC’s, plus the first appearance on vinyl of classic connected release ‘Lust’ by Tigerskin K.E.E.N.E and Elli (David Mayer Remix). The full compilation, meanwhile, features catalogue cuts by David Mayer, Re.You, Nandu, Florian Busse, Aaaron, Floyd Lavine and Pôngo amongst others.

Amsterdam native Olaf Stuut delivers a superbly stripped down remix of Re.You that comes as a real musical journey. The track is mainly driven by a repetitive 808 drum beat, housed in an arrangement that is packed with sound design and work on the detail. With his latest releases Olaf has been exploring the borders between experimentation and club functionality, and he's doing so again here to great effect.

Unidentified flying objects over Roswell, New Mexico and alien autopsies, is it all just myth, or has the truth been deliberately withheld from us mere mortal human beings?  Conspiracy? Cover up?  Perhaps we will never know, but when science hasn’t yet discounted extra terrestrial life forms, and the vessels they might ride in, we are left eagerly wondering….

There was ‘the other Roswell’, you know?  One year later, in Aztec, New Mexico, 1948.  Just a coincidence?  Or just another hoax?  We, at ABRACADABRA, sit in the believers’ camp, it makes life so much more interesting when an open mind is maintained.

Parisian based duo, Lunar Disco, feel similarly, and have been motivated to deliver an extra planetary charged single for ABRACADABRA with ‘Moon Tango’.

Otherwise known as Kate Elsworth and Nicolas Blistene, the pair have over fifteen years of combined musical passion under their belts, from global party planners & DJs (siding alongside the likes of Sven Vath, Solomon and Lee Burridge at their events) to vocal performances and song-writing, and releases on labels such as Mobilee, Kondisch, Defected and KATERMUKKE.  They also share 20 years + of UFO spotting activity.  Sadly, they’ve not reported any sightings yet, but they haven’t given up just yet.  Far from it, channelling their music up to the skies, they are hopeful of extra terrestrial contact soon…..
