This will be a catalog of my ongoing experiments sound using FM synthesis.  Some will be songs while some maybe snippets.

A mega man zero inspired stage theme I wrote 2 years ago.

Arctic Circle

This track is from the second incarnation of Nintendium-118, a collaborative chiptune compo hosted by the PSG Cabal themed around the elements. Each entrant was randomly assigned an element from the periodic table, and had to create a chiptune track based around it. This year's release features a healthy mixture of newcomers and alumni from Volume 1, leading to a compo that is familiar, yet also refreshingly novel.

"Made with 0CC, 2a03+VRC6+VRC7. Used the DPCM channel tonally for some interesting (if very noisy) chords and sounds for the bulk of the song. I exported each channel independently and mixed them in my DAW, leading to this sort of heavily post-produced chiptune sound."

This track is a musical exploration of anxiety in all of its forms. The auditory hallucinations and heartbeats resonating in the chest as musical elements. The instability and vulnerability during the peak of a meltdown. Vision zooming in and out. The bittersweet mixture of emotions. There's angst and regret, but also a touch of warmth from childhood flashbacks. Most importantly, the beauty that can be found in all of it.

Most of the instrumentation (leads, arps, percussion, bass) is done using exported stems from 0cc-Famitracker, supported by piano, pad synths and live violin recordings.
