Arumbo is the result of an artistic and musical exploration by Marta Meix Garcia (Barcelona) and Jonas Mertens (Brussels), inspired by the experiences, learnings, and emotions from this beautiful process called life. Since 2015, they have performed over 250 concerts on renowned stages across Europe and released two albums and an EP.

For their latest album, Mirada Transversal, they collaborated with Jairo Palchukan, an indigenous musician and multidisciplinary artist from the Kamsá community in the Colombian Amazon. This work is a more personal and introspective project, inviting listeners to connect with that mysterious space of spirituality we carry within.

On this remixes album we find a very fun mix of artists and ideas, a lot of Latin American influences combined with the new grooves from Spain, making an album that’s very deep, catchy and fresh in terms of sounds and rhythms, we are sure you’ll enjoy it a lot.

Arumbo - Agárrate (Namirí Remix) [Ritmos Del Sur]

A refined version of my 2024 live set. 

First performed at Atlas Bar & Gallery in March, the set has been organically self-evolving. Planted in spring, the musical seed has grown into a Bonsai, showing me where it wants to go. I only nourish the soil, water the plant, and cut the leaves with loving care and consistency.

A twofold path laid down in walking, this live set is the musical thread in counterpoint to my master thesis in cognitive science on emergent self-organization.

For an extended weekend, music aficionados across the electronic and acoustic spectrum were invited to celebrate the arrival of spring with a 5-day electroacoustic jam camp at the VEWA creative hub in Dudelange, Luxembourg. 

Inspired by my background in Anthropology, Cognitive Science, and Consciousness Studies, we investigated the relation of music and mind, exploring the creative feedback loop between the two and discovering the inner world of experiences that arise through musicking together. 

Incubated in Vienna and nurtured during the USINA Festival 2024, this event has undergone meticulous development and refinement over the summer months. We continued exploring the vision of an electroacoustic live loopers collective, fostering a collaborative environment where musicians of all backgrounds can share their passion and knowledge. Guided by the central question - how can we resonate with the potentials that want to emerge - we embarked on an immersive journey into the art of musicking as living beings, researchers, and musicians alike.

Skill level was not a prerequisite for participation. All were welcome to join us in this celebration of music and creativity.
