Japan – GHOSTS [Nannue Tipitier remix]

This was the original B'side to my second single on Virgin called "You Can Do It" .... I made this in 1990 when Disco was a dirty word and all the people who now claim to be Disco Officiandos slagged me off for making such a Disco House track .... there was also another track on the B'side of the twelve called "This is a Dance Track" which Andrew Weatherall used to play all the time.

August Alsina's debut mixtape "The Product" assisted by DJ Scream was released on April 15, the release date is one of personal significance to August, as it’s the birthday of his late brother who was gunned down in New Orleans in 2010. The words “Dedicated to my big brother. R.I.P. Melvin LaBranch III, 4.15.86 – 8.31.10” appear on the mixtape’s back cover. The release is a fitting dedication to the brother who inspired August to leave the street life behind and make music his full-time hustle.

This is a mix I did totally live (one take, no computers or edits) from vinyl only ! in December 2001 in my house. It was done as part of a set of CD's for a friend's New Years Party. The set included the NYE mix which I uploaded last December. This mix is FULL ON energy House music which is a snapshot of what I was playing at the time. 

I did one set of copies which I gave to my best friend Paul le Boutillier in January 2002 .... He has just recently given me a set back burned from his computer. I am INDEBTED to him for keeping my archive ... ENJOY !

This was done as the B'Side to my second single on Virgin ... The "A" side was called "You Can Do It" and was a Disco influenced track long before disco became trendy again .... This track was a statement from me to say that I could do all types of House Music ... My most Lovely memory of this track is when I was in conversation with Andrew Weatherall and he told me he played it a lot ! .... it turned out that apart from being friends since 1987 ... we also really admired and appreciated each others work. If I could change one thing I would edit out the "Stone Fox Chase" break at approx 3.45 ... anyway ... ENJOY ! ♥

This is a cover version of "Magic Table" by Spike. It was originally released in 1983, but was then re-released by Golf Channel Recordings in 2011.
Our friend Ryan showed us the song cause it freaked him out that Spike's voice sounds exactly like Filip's voice. When we heard it we were blown away with the similarity and decided to do a cover just to see how similar the voices are (also cause it's a damn good song). We were happy with the result and decided to put it on our last mixtape and you can download it here for free.

This site is a reflection and in some ways a chronicle of my career in Dance Music .... ALL the mixes are live and mainly all from vinyl .... There are a few which are a mix of Vinyl and CD .... ALL the remixes with the exception of "BREAK FOR LOVE" are from my time as a well known Remixer and Producer. All the ACIDISCOTECH mixes are samples of how I play now in a bar setting although there is some club crossover. ACIDISCOTECH means a mix of sounds and styles and time periods which when combined express the energy  and passion I feel for music ... I FIRMLY BELIEVE IN THE CAPACITY FOR PEOPLE TO OPEN THEIR EARS, MINDS AND HEARTS TO ALL DIFFERENT TYPES OF MUSIC AND ENJOY IT FOR WHAT IT IS ....
