From his base in the Helsinki underground, @soundsofkaspiann has forged a psychedelic techno sound rooted in DIY ethos and free from tempo constraints. Through his VALA label, live performances, custom soundsystem, and self-organised parties, he cultivates a holistic approach to club music — one aimed at total immersion and psychological surrender within dimly lit, physically resonant spaces. His sound bridges low-speed experiments and fast-paced meditations, echoing early influences from trance and psy while shaping a refined, contemporary identity since launching VALA in 2021. Balancing introspective textures with impactful club energy, Kaspiann channels the pulse of Helsinki’s clubs and the raw spirit of its underground. His live sets, shifting fluidly between ambient, downtempo, and deep techno, embody a versatile, hypnotic vision that values immersion and sonic exploration above all else.

Deep Space Helsinki - 8th October 2025

In the space where sound is stripped to its essential form, new worlds emerge. For our latest podcast, we welcome Hitam, an artist who operates as a true sonic architect, sculpting sound from its most granular elements. His work masterfully bridges the worlds of deep techno and avant-garde experimentalism, finding profound power not in overwhelming force, but in restrained intensity. The Amsterdam based producer’s ultra finessed sounds have been released on the likes of Hayes, Somov, SYXT as well a string of exceptional recent releases on his own Rhiza Semar label. As a DJ he serves as a resident at the infamous Eerste Communie parties, as well as playing legendary institutions like Tresor, Bassiani, De School and more. 

“For this mix I wanted to trace a descent through shifting temporal layers; beginning in a state of suspension, slowly moving into trance-inducing motion before dissolving again into the subterranean. It travels from fluid, hypnotic rhythm into zones of disorientation and release; a process of acceleration, collapse, and renewal. Recorded as a continuous narrative rather than a set, it mirrors my current pull toward a landscape where ancient ritual and submerged hypnosis blend into an organic accelerated pulse where momentum and meditation intertwine beneath the surface.”

Forget relentless peaks, this is techno that demands deep immersion, challenging yet deeply rewarding, a deep trip of tension and release on a microscopic level. A tale of masterfully executed cerebral hypnosis, told across two chapters of disintegration through terrains that feel simultaneously ancient and futuristic. A dialogue between soil and circuitry, pulse and void.

Reka Zalan is a Berlin based DJ, who is deeply embedded in the DNA of Berlin's landscape - as a Tresor resident since 2023, a Hard Wax staffer and a member of the Coppi collective. The mix dives into the depths of atmospheric, cavernous techno before propelling into the expanse of hyperspace as it builds with speed and intensity. Techno collaborations don’t come much more exciting than Neon Chambers. Made up of UK titan Sigha and famously experimental Frenchman Kangding Ray, the pair have very much defined the modern sound of the genre with their solo careers. When coming together for their blistering live show, they fuse avant-garde sounds with machine-driven grooves and work up music that manages to make an impact on the floor as well as fire your cerebral cortex. 

Later this year, the pair will play at Dekmantel 2019, but before that we have a set to get you in the zone as to what to expect. Of course, it is a stylish and boundary pushing exploration of tempo and texture that is all up close and intricate synthesis one moment, then more laid back dub swagger the next. Never rooted to one sound world, there are cosmic vibes as well as raw industrialism all touched upon, and the result is as arresting as you would expect from this hugely proficient pair.
