@DJ-Koze-official remixes ’Sanba Yo Pran Pale’ from iconic Haitian band @Lakou-Mizik and Grammy Award-winning producer @JosephRayMusic (of NERO), released on @anjunadeep.

’Sanba Yo Pran Pale’ is Koze's first remix in two years and is typically eclectic. Reimagining the traditional Haitian Vodou song as a summer dance anthem, warping and stretching the original vocals from Lakou Mizik’s Sanba Zao onto a bed of catchy rhythmic synths and warm enveloping bass. Ten minutes long, the original mix has a nostalgic analogue warmth that feels perfect for an Indian summer’s day.

’Sanba Yo Pran Pale’ is the first track off Lakou Mizik & Joseph Ray’s album ‘Leave the Bones’, and is a traditional Haitian song steeped in Vodou tradition: "The Sanbas are the poets and keepers of Haitian history and culture. They pass on their wisdom through song and story. ‘Sanba Yo Pran Pale’ is an invitation to the Sanbas to speak their truth whilst paying respect to the Vodou ‘Lwa’ or spirits."

As 2022 settles into its final form, there is a sense of awe within how the previous 12 months have transpired for me. In the midst of one of my most challenging chapters, I am reminded that nothing is guaranteed to us beyond this present moment. It is through seasons of darkness and transformation that our raw potential is cultivated and forged. 

For anyone else experiencing what feels like a new becoming, may this next chapter be a REBÎRTH filled with grace and insight for you. 

I enjoyed recording this set, fully focused in the present moment, letting my heart lead the way through this expressive mix of both light and dark tones.

The gentle hum of wind turbines and the soothing rhythm of rain on solar panels envelop you, painting a vivid picture of how technology can harmonise with nature to heal our planet.
Mitigating Our Impact (Scenario Two):
In the second scenario, the whispers immerse you in a reality where innovative technologies aim to mitigate the consequences of our harmful actions. Drones whir overhead, representing our collective effort to address and correct our environmental missteps.
The Unavoidable Consequence (Scenario Three)
In the third and final scenario, stark consequences unfurl. The relentless chants of climate activists blend with the harsh cawing of crows at a landfill site, while the ominous drone of machinery from construction sites permeates the air. In the distance, the mournful wail of an ambulance and the haunting hum of a hospital ventilator underscore the irreversible harm inflicted upon our health and environment..
But as the dream takes a turn, and you begin to awaken, a glimmer of hope emerges. The soundscape shifts to the serene melodies of nature, accompanied by the unmistakable buzz of a thriving bee colony. It's a reminder that, even in the face of adversity, there's still a chance for regeneration if we make different choices.
