NEW STUFF (NU-DISCO, DISCO-HOUSE, RE-EDITS, FUNKY)

Hey guys.

Thanks for taking the time to listen to this mix.

This is a recording of a live stream i did on Mixify yesterday.
It was an event hosted by Raggydoll, who set it up for me. I just turned up and did the mix for her.

It's a full on retro 80s feel, with loads of tracks i remember from growing up in the 80s, i'm sure you'll remember lots of these too if you were around then.

For me i wouldn't of even got back into mixing/DJ'ing if it wasn't for alot of the people that re-edited these tracks your listening to here. I gave DJ'ing up years ago. I had grown very bored with house, trance, prog and funky, i'd played those styles of music for too long. 

By chance a while ago however i came onto soundcloud randomly and started looking for some old stuff 80s tracks. I was lucky enough to land on a mix produced by a guy called "80s Child" who i now know as Danny.

When i listened to his mix, it literally blew me away, i had no idea people were taking old 80s tracks and editing them, and making them club-ready, to be mixed properly etc.

Since then, ive found other people that do exactly the same, and got to know some of them, people such as Wonkar (thanks for the Ableton help m8), The Reflex, Rayko, Dr Packer, Shit Hot SoundSystem and the Groove Motion guys. All top class people with serious skills for this sort of stuff.

Here is a mix i just put together, fresh with summer feeling. Not long got off work and wanted to chill out for an hour with some tropical disco. 

I've included tracks such as American Dream as the intro, the Nora En Pure Remix of Passenger 10 (awesome track), Losque, Escort, Nelue and as is always a pleasure, one of my favourite tracks by the awesome BlueAzure.

Cumaru (Original Mix)

Hey guys.

A month or two ago a friend of mine asked me if i would play the opening set of a digital festival she was organizing and hosting, in honor of a one year anniversary for her. Luckily i had that day off work so i said it would be a pleasure.

Thanks to you Tara for inviting me to play, and well done for all the hard work setting it up.

The event was to run over the entire weekend and the opening slot was friday midday, where i started things off.

This is the recording of that 2 hour opening set, i start off with chilled out balearic, ambient sounds to start off slow. Then i go through some pure disco and finish off with some up to date nudisco gradually incrasing the bpm as i go :)

I think the set went down well and everyone who turned up to listen seemed to like it. Feel free to judge for yourself :)

I may have even cheekily dropped one of my own tracks in there:P
