— About the project:

“Over the past few years, Shane and I have become good friends and, due to our mutual love of progressive house/uplifting trance, have always wanted to write something together in that vein. Eternal Healer started as a simple synth jam of mine with some admittedly random vocals recorded overtop. Upon hearing this little demo, Shane took it upon himself to draft an entire arrangement almost overnight. With a few more weeks of production work on his end and vocal work on mine, the song had finally come to life. Not only that, at an emotional level, its seemingly arbitrary lyrical content somehow now made sense. We’ve been sitting on this one for a while — hope you enjoy!” — Alexander

"Alexander and I always held a particular bond with trance and progressive house music. Our enthusiasm for both genres sparked many passionate conversations between us. One commonly brought up was the idea of making a track together, though we never discussed it in seriousness even though we wanted to collaborate. One evening, Alexander sent a short tune he made in our Discord titled "Come Bless My Soul". I immediately fell in love with the groove and feel of the track. Upon listening to it on repeat, I began accumulating ideas in my head. I started with incorporating percussive elements in an attempt to compliment its odd time, although rough on the first draft, there was something there. After fleshing everything out, I presented my rendition of the song to Alexander. He expressed immense joy and interest in what I made, which ultimately led us to our first collaborative project, Eternal Healer. On the bright and early morning of August 12th, 2023, over 1,000 creatives began their 24-hour work session that resulted in 558 unique songs and 66 album covers. Musicians bounced out stems for each other and shared samples, visual artists scoured the Internet for fonts and graphics, and everyone excitedly buzzed about what would come of it all. The final result? 45 of the most outstanding, creative, and genuine tracks our corner of the digital world has to offer—with an equally beautiful album cover to match.

The real enrichment lies in the act of creation. A piece of art does not have to be forward-thinking or never-seen-before, nor does it have to be better than the last; it simply has to be. To create something without worry of what others might think, to have fun with your work, is one of the greatest things this world has to offer—digital or otherwise.

All proceeds from All Nighter Vol. 8 will be going to Out & Equal, an organization dedicated to workplace equality for LGBTQ+ individuals.

Glacier - Someday

New album, Peripheries, out June 20th

I've wanted to make a pure dance electronica album for a looooong time, and I finally got around to doing it. I made the album using mostly hardware synths (my newfound addiction), and this bassline was all from my Erica Synths LXR-02, which markets itself as a drum machine, but it's got some mean distortion that makes for some great basses and leads.

Anyways, hope you enjoy! Much more music to come this spring and summer.

Transfer Orbit

Second song off the new album, Peripheries. Had fun with the chaos on this one.

Like Transfer Orbit, I made most of this one by layering sequences from the LXR-02 (sequenced by the Oxi One) recording as I was tweaking it. It has a great internal distortion, and I also ran it through the Soma Lyra's distortion.

Scramble to the Bottom

Dyadic is the third single from my upcoming electronica album Peripheries. This one is all about the bass.

The name comes from the fact that 80% of the song was made with the Fors Dyad VST, which is a dual monosynth with a built in sequencer, very similar to Elektron devices. I programmed the basslines and percussion, and then recorded the audio output as I tweaked it. Then mangle it to all hell. This was the last song I wrote for the album, which was originally 11 songs. This was also the fasted song completed from conception to mix.
