Welcome to the fourth show of A Darker Wave Extra, our brand new format of occasional shows presented by Jacki-E & P-Mac, with a one hour mix by the show's presenters in the first half featuring the latest and best of the new techno releases and a guest mix by leading underground Techno DJs in the second.

The guest mix is by Maurice Burgbacher who’s from Tubingen in southern Germany. He recently founded his own label, Hapoi Music. His mix features his recent collab with Alosoul, his remix of the iconic ‘Sandstorm’ by Darude, available on free download and his latest single, ‘Rheology’ came out on Clepsydra in January 2025. What and who is A Darker Wave?
We are a duo (jacki-e & p-mac) who present A Darker Wave every week only on NLive Radio, Circl8 Radio, Echo Radio & Chill Lover Radio. We put the show together in our home studio. The show is streamed worldwide on the internet. Each show is posted on our Soundcloud, Mixcloud, Hearthis.at, Podbean and You Tube pages once it has been streamed and presents the best in new techno releases.
We also play gigs as A Darker Wave and we have played at events in Germany and all over the UK.
The music we play is techno, tech house, deep house and anything else we like enough to include in the show.
Each show is 2 hours long. In the first hour we go into the mix with our featured EP of the week and the best of the new releases.
In the second hour we invite new and upcoming DJs to come onto the show and do a guest mix.

Why are you called A Darker Wave?
Dark Wave was first used in the 1980s to describe a dark and melancholy variant of new wave and post-punk music and was first applied to UK musicians such as Bauhaus, Joy Division, Sisters of Mercy, Cocteau Twins, The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Depeche Mode and Anne Clark. It was also used to describe artists who combined music with performance art, such as Throbbing Gristle and Cabaret Voltaire, who challenged and explored the darker and obsessive sides of the human condition.

A lot of techno takes its spirit and ethos from this music, Listen to Throbbing Gristle or Cabaret Voltaire and you can hear the industrial sounds which are a staple of techno music today.

Techno is the outsider of electronic dance music, the punk of today's modern music scene. As Dave Clarke said in an interview with Mixmag, " Techno is edgy. Techno will challenge you......it's the real dark art."

Our radio show, in presenting the best in underground techno and deep house music, and in giving an opportunity for new, up and coming DJ's and producers, is providing an outlet for new techno, which is best described as being the new wave of modern dance music.

Not just a new wave, but with it's incessant bass rumblings, synthesiser drones, pounding drums, melodic top notes and eerie, distorted vocal samples, techno, in all its forms, is a backdrop to and a critique of our post-industrial, consumerist society, one in which our actions are observed 24/7, our democratic freedoms are threatened by our very own governments and our rights to do, think and act as we please are under ever increasing scrutiny. Techno really is A Darker Wave.

When we were listening to music in the 60’s and 70’s, before the electronic tentacles of technology infiltrated the world, we often thought, whilst listening to the likes of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Frank Zappa, Hawkwind, Captain Beefhart, New York Dolls and Roxy Music, where would music go to in the future? It could never be what was being portrayed in the science fiction movies of the time. Now we know. It can be anything. When we have a recording studio in our own home which is more powerful and versatile than anything available back then, we now know music can be anything and go anywhere. It is only the spark of our imaginations, or lack of it, that holds us back. On our laptop computers we have the capabilities that many artists back then would have given their right arms for. It’s for the uniqueness of the artist to express themselves to be able to stand out from the deluge of music available. Finding those gems is the modern day equivalent of crate digging and when you do, it makes it all worthwhile. Long live music!!!!

Well, that’s the final single for 2025 out now. I guess all that’s left for me to say is thank you to each and every one of you who showed love for all my music this year. I will be creatively inactive and off social media for the rest of the year. While pursuing a career in academia Phil also continues his career in music. He first started to learn the piano at the age of five and at ten began playing the piano accordion. At thirteen he started to learn the guitar. He has played keyboards, guitar and accordion professionally for many years. Phil also writes and records his own songs that have been played by bands in the UK. He is influenced by Ronnie Lane (Small faces/ Slim chance), Eagles, Van Morrison, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Blackberry Smoke.

Now in all seriousness. Lekker Hondje is  a belgian girl that doesnt feel very belgian that has her roots in the hardcore house production but gave that up on that after she grew tired of the closed mindedness of the record labels/directors as she tried to explore different styles, new grooves. She tried to walk the lines that connect the different styles and tried to fade out these lines. Bring different styles to the people. In all this she is strongly influenced by artists such as 2manydj's aka soulwax, NIN, Spor, Stim Axel, Jimmy Hendriks, The chemical brothers and many others.
When she isn't working on any music business then she is probably at her 'other' job or she is playing arma2 or doing other stuffs of course. She will bring you dirthy beats (, dirthy dancing and pounding pounding techno music - hehe), good groove and catchy tunes. Remixes, mixes, mashups, probably some new own work soon. Let her take you on a trip trough the magical world of electro music and enjoy the beats.

Born in Bulgaria, my musical journey began at the age of 8 as a choir singer. By 10, I had won the national championship as a solo artist, leading to performances on national radio, television, and major events.

At 13, I relocated to Austria, where my passion for music naturally evolved from singing to DJing. After gaining experience in lounges, I earned a residency at one of  Graz’s (Austria) leading clubs in 2013, where I performed for over three years.

In 2015, I signed my first record deal with a small label and released my debut EP. Since 2019, I’ve been fully immersed in music production, exploring various genres and styles to shape and refine my artistic identity.

Although I’ve experimented with a wide range of sounds, my creative vision ultimately found its home in Bigroom Techno – a style that captures the full energy and emotion I strive to deliver. Currently, I’m working on new singles and a potential album, while preparing for upcoming DJ performances.
