"Just some random guy… trying to compose himself."

David Zen is a synth storyteller channeling chaos, hope, and raw humanity into cinematic electronic music. I don’t always know what I’m making when I start, but somehow it tells me by the end. (Is that channeling… or cluelessness? Either way, it works.)

From the closet studio of my 1995 debut “Falling Together, Coming Apart” to my latest AI-assisted anthems, I’ve always been drawn to music that surprises — emotionally, structurally, spiritually. My newer tracks combine lush synth textures with themes of grief, masculinity, transformation, and world unity.

“Flying High (An Anthem for Everyone!)” – an inclusive Pride anthem in progress, calling the world to rise together in radical joy and color

“Grandpa’s Internet Search History” – a haunting synth ballad uncovering the emotional trail of a man’s life through decades of unspoken Google searches

“Tomorrow Instead” – a bittersweet story-song about shame, faith, and the quiet courage of walking away from what breaks you

“Paradigm Shift” – an urgent, electrified awakening — shaking loose the old voices and reclaiming your power

“Cosmic Journey” – an introspective, dreamlike track that floats through surrender, wonder, and spiritual connection

“2 Wrongs” – a punchy back-and-forth exploring heartbreak, blame, and the messy math of love

“The Fog” – a gentle, ghostly drift through memory, grief, and the things we almost said

“Dark Room” – seductive and shadowy, where desire and denial dance in slow-motion suspense


I’m still experimenting. Still learning. Still chasing the mystery.

Former DJ/host of WWSP-90FM's late 80s/early 90s weekly radio show, ANOTHER DAY IN THE BIG WORLD, "the place to be for your technopop fixes and 12-inch mixes." 

Fanboy of classic synthpop & new wave artists, as well as more current artists inspired by them. Point me to new ones I haven't heard of yet!!

Just some random guy pretending to be a musician. A long time ago I made a CD. In 2024 I began teaching myself composition & wrote 30+ songs, then started adding vocals. In September I started re-doing them all using a new process and they're amazing!!

MAKEOUT CLUB, born in 2010, is an italian duo producing nu disco/electrowave.

They are influenced by new wave and italo-disco. They are taking inspiration from several artists of the last decades like Giorgio Moroder, Chic, Kano, Propaganda, Telex, Jan Hammer, Fancy, Joy Division, the Valerie Collective, Bottin, Alden Tyrell, Volta Cab and many many others. The ingredients of their music are John Carpenter, the love for Jennifer Connelly, analogue stuff, Prophet V, arpeggiators, August the 12th 1981, Tron, space odysseys, Labyrinth, Bret Easton Ellis, lasers, love stories, disco balls, funk & boogie, Patrick Nagel, Bruce Nauman, 8-bit technology, Lady D and undoubtely the dark side of the force.

In their DJ sets they mix disco house, nu-disco and rare pieces of synth/italo/disco.
They played national and international stages, sharing them with Moullinex, LBCK, Justin Faust, Fare Soldi, Franz Underwear, Spiller, Telonius, Le Sale and others.
