A producer well versed in artful DNB production, Eastcolors was the ideal candidate to take on remixing Handra’s outstanding “Coat of Dust”. He throws up a tastefully toughened, re-worked, and re-aligned depiction whilst retaining the obvious emotional essence of the original. The smooth, free flowing beats have been bulked up and are noticeably chunkier. The piano and vocal hook gets a little twist and stretch with a few discrete slice and dice finely tweaked edits. The pads and sweeps get some subtle flinty reverbed coloration to add some varnish and the addition of an electro plated humming mid bass looping the sub adds some back alley grittiness. First rate remixing from a first rate producer.

EastColors returns to AB and serves up two collaborations, co-opting talented friends Nami and Mailky whilst also remixing Detail and Tiiu’s Delusion. All 3 tracks deliver the straitjacket tight production values fans of EastColors have come to expect and are sure to increase his already ascending popularity. 

DETAIL & TIIU – DELUSION (EASTCOLORS REMIX) Delusion goes under the production knife and gets a little nip and tuck from Eastcolors. The soft understated bass of the original gets excised and replaced with a more growling, sideways moving variety whilst picturesque pads hover in the background. The beautiful, emotionally textured vocal of Tiiu is selectively deployed while coiling breaks add some extra hustle to the beats.

Our first outing on the main Dispatch label in 2016, we are pleased to welcome back Nymfo for his debut EP; a fearsome four tracker entitled ‘Marching Machines’.

The EP succeeds two superb singles from the Dutchman, with an infectious style that catches us every time; uncompromising on the lower frequencies, but always funk induced; controlled technical mid ranges are used strictly to facilitate the groove; never excessive or superfluous.

Nymfo combines forces with label stalwart DLR on opening track ‘Affliction’, which true to its title, inflicts its deadly scourge from the off, with flashing sirens giving an air of anarchy and disorder; developing throughout, with ultra-crisp drums pattering and shifting over.

Up next is ‘Forward Motion’, which sees Nymfo collaborate with the mighty Total Science for the very first time, in a tantalizingly dark manner. Pushing the speakers to the threshold, the bassline carries through with formidable force, as vocal snippet ‘Forward’ echoes atop.

Following on, is title track ‘Marching Machines’, setting the tone for the EP as mechanical whirrs murmur over playful, skipping drum work. Equipped with carefully selected samples, the track combines numerous elements, whilst offering space in all the right spaces to reach its goal.

Last but certainly not least, ‘Pitchfork’ completes the EP, since first featuring in his Radio 1 mix back in August. Paying homage to the ‘Wormhole’ sound of the 90s, Nymfo gives his own distinctive future twist to a classic style; increasing the intensity, but retaining all the groove.

Our artist led Hospital Mixtape series continues! Over the years, S.P.Y has become one of the most well-respected producers and DJs in the game with an astute ear for the crispest, deepest and darkest drum & bass. T

S.P.Y’s sets are consistently crammed with the highest quality selections, which hasn’t gone unnoticed. In 2015 he was chosen to present the prestigious BBC Radio 1 Essential mix for Pete Tong and subsequently joined Annie Mac at her BBC Radio 1 stage at Glastonbury Festival.

A DJ in high demand, S.P.Y has spent the last year touring the globe from USA to Canada, Australia to New Zealand. Last summer he took to the stage at Bestival, Sun & Bass, EDC and Tomorrow World! Yet around his crowded schedule he’s found the time to delve deep in his record box and pull together 31 standout tracks of the moment.

He’s got his hands dirty getting hold of 15 previously unreleased tracks from the likes of Logistics, Dub Elements, Anile, Whiney and Random Movement. Drop Frame (Tom) has been producing since a very young age, introduced to the Perth rave scene by his Sister, he fell in love with the energy and became determined with writing the same music that sparked within him. Through the years that followed, he attempted and experimented with multiple genre's, from the manic speed of hardcore - to slow jazz electronic odysseys in 'Monk' and 'Catalyst'. He's since had multiple tracks played on Triple J in Australia, noted by inthemix, shared the 'Best Music Video' atom award with visionary director Oli Sansom. Featured incredible musicians such as Savage, Annie Inkerman, Mike Waters, GCM and recently Alice Phoebe Lou. Milano based DJ and producer Steven Voorn aka Stefano+Bombelli, debuts on Piston with a superb retro inspired two track tech house cut entitled Bring You. He's been around the house scene for quite a while churning out quality vibes, he was mentioned in both DJ Mag and Vicious magazine as a must watch emerging talent. His tracks have appeared on a raft of quality labels including Blu Fin, FootMusicRecords, Roush, Twisted Fusion, Beat It Music and Fish Rec to name just a few. Over the years he has played at top venues alongside top jocks from around the world. Delighted to have him on board at Piston.

Bring You opens with a powerful kick drum and a bright crispy hat combi that gets your feet shuffling to the bouncy rhythm. A classic vocal rips through the sound and introduces a low end sub bass that will rattle any speaker to its core. The drums here are the big draw, tightly arranged to create a wonderful rhythm to dance along to. Cool synth stabs come through alongside high strings and bring a smooth house style to the sound while the FX and vocal keep the track firmly rooted in the tech arena. Backspins and retro beats a plenty here, a must have track for sure.

It's House sets off with a pacey kick drum and hi hat combi alongside some tight snare rolls and various percussions. A deep monster bass rattles the subs from the low end and will force any party to get their groove on. We're treated to some perfectly placed vocals from yesteryear that add a cool nostalgia to the sound along with retro styled stabs that are sure to get the hands in the air. Proper dancefloor fodder here that will definitely get any party into full swing.
