Charis is a 27-year-old DJ and aspiring producer from the Oxfordshire area who has been DJing and producing for around 3 and a half years. She is member and resident DJ for Phase Records, since early 2023, and is currently a mentee for the EQ50 X Shogun Audio mentorship scheme.
Existing across the sonics of deep minimal and the more soulful liquid side of the drum and bass spectrum, she cites heavy influence from the likes of Monrroe, Netsky, Halogenix, and Pola & Bryson.

EastColors returns to AB and serves up two collaborations, co-opting talented friends Nami and Mailky whilst also remixing Detail and Tiiu’s Delusion. All 3 tracks deliver the straitjacket tight production values fans of EastColors have come to expect and are sure to increase his already ascending popularity. 

DETAIL & TIIU – DELUSION (EASTCOLORS REMIX) Delusion goes under the production knife and gets a little nip and tuck from Eastcolors. The soft understated bass of the original gets excised and replaced with a more growling, sideways moving variety whilst picturesque pads hover in the background. The beautiful, emotionally textured vocal of Tiiu is selectively deployed while coiling breaks add some extra hustle to the beats.

In December 2013 Addictive Behaviour launched themselves in to the vast expanse of the underground D&B scene with a various artist album consisting of some formidable talent. Minor Rain was one of those artists, and now more than 2 years on from that pivotal moment Minor Rain fires up the Addictive engines once more for his third outing on the fast growing label.  
 
This little number is an entirely different affair.  The intro opens with an electronic groove and funkiness to it before introducing us to a reverberating, some might say “Crazy” vocal. This rises and gathers pace alongside some carefully placed kicks and snares, before throwing you with inertia to the back of your seat as the fast paced rolling bassline and more shaky synths drop in just to mess with your head some more. The insanity continues in typical Minor Rain fashion with sweeping synths, choppy subs and that crazy vocal creeping in again, amalgamating for a stunning composition that is difficult to define within a genre.

Being Addictive Behaviour's last release of 2017 and 25th release in total, it was decided to deliver something a little bit special. Bringing together label regulars Mystic State alongside a host of talent from previous outings for an epic collaboration project and the labels first full artist LP. 'Mystic State Versus' consists of 6 collaborations with artists including Philth, Detail, Xanadu, Data 3, Third Degree and Wingz as well as a cheeky VIP of Mystics last Addictive release and a new solo effort from the Bristol Based duo. Here's what they had to say about the project:

"To quote our style icon Bob Ross, the way this LP came about was a complete happy accident. The Addictive Behaviour chaps thought it would be a good idea for some members of the roster to put their heads together and write some collaborative music. We started off with “Shakedown” with Detail, a producer who has impressed and inspired us since we started this music thing. The track came along so quickly that we decided to keep going. “Chambers” with Third Degree was our next venture, and in the coming weeks we started bits with Philth, Wingz and Data 3, which flowed together so nicely that the idea of an EP was on the cards. One thing led to another, and we discovered an old track we started with Xanadu nearly 2 years ago after we met him at a gig in London. We passed it back and forth until “Shenhai” was completed. By this point, we’d gone too far, and decided to LP the shit out of it. We made a VIP of “Under the Shadow”, and tidied up a solo track “Shottaz” and realised we had a full length piece of music. We enjoyed making this release so much, it was incredible to work with so many talented producers. If you enjoy listening to it even half as much, we’re happy. Big up to all the listeners, and to Clayton & Neil for supporting us"

Mystic State Vs Wingz - Midnight Call

Starting the New Year afresh with some fresh new talent, Addictive behaviour proudly present a collaboration project from artists Smuskind, a duo consisting of Jonas & Orga, working alongside mutual friend Felix Raymon. All hailing from the Ruhr area of Germany they met at a young age from sharing an interest in electronic music production.

Jonas was naturally born into the drum and bass music scene with his Dad being in a Jungle / Dub band whilst Orga began making music from just 15 and Felix studied Media Music at the ArtEZ Conservatory in the Netherlands. Now they've joined forces to bring about this EP that displays their impressive production skills and musical ability.

The release is a 4 tracker, opening with 'Hydro' a collab from the artists characterized by sweeping cavernous bass stabs modulated throughout the track. Following this is 'Naughty' by Felix, a bass heavy tech roller spliced with a ragga vocal. 'Waterdrops' adds a whole other element to the EP with a rumbling tribal beat that builds momentum as it flows. And to finish 'Hydro' gets the remix treatment from another local producer & friend, Seibel, adding his alternative pace and flavour to the original.

Together this debut on Addictive is a solid output from the German collective whom we have no doubt you will be seeing a lot more of in 2018.
