BLAST OFF!

Firing up all cylinders, we start our engines for 2019 with the year ahead set to be full of releases from up and coming talents and Addictive stalwarts. We begin with this three track treat from the man known as Objectiv, who first made his appearance on Addictive's recent 5 Year's album with his stunning liquid vibes in 'Obligation'. He returns with this head-spinning 3 track single, demonstrating some solid & diverse productions skills from the London based producer.

Each riddim on offer brings a different flavour to the release. Opening strong with 'Tape Pack', a techy stepper delivering a snappy punch with crispy sticky drums and intricate percussions in the mids. Stalking close behind is 'The Greyhound' in track number two. This fast paced heavy hitting dogger is in a class all of its own and hotly tipped by big headz and music press to trigger an all new dnb Sub-genre. The urban hipster's are calling it a "Rolley Roller". All we know is it will get those subs a woofing! And to finish, a collaboration with producer Teej titled 'Absolute'. Objectiv and Teej's versatility is shown here, with its majestic build-up in the intro dropping out into twisted bassy stabs. A real moody dance-floor killer.

Be sure to keep an ear out for Objectiv as the young producer hones his music making mastery for the next era. . .

Depth Returns, next up in the series is talented Bristol-based Incus. 
He delivers with a slick 3 track outing packed with deeper vibes. 

Huge kicks, signature mids and detailed atmospheres are exactly the reasons we love Incus, he has basically stuffed this EP with exactly that and completely nailed the vibe of our Depth Series. 

We are all super proud at the label to finally have some Incus Output under the Boey banner and to bring you guys the Astral Roots EP!

Unbelievably hyped to welcome the mighty SCAR to our premiere spotlight today as the duo take on Lao Wai & LaMeduza's new track for Addictive Behaviour, Tie Me Up. Delivering the customary scuzzy tech bass and razor sharp breaks while retaining the soulful vocal of the original, this is a vintage dark roller; yes yes. Skankandbass is dedicated towards the official promotion of record labels and artists in the world of drum & bass music. Since inception in 2009, Skankandbass has unearthed some of the freshest talents in the scene and has opened many doors for unsigned artists. Now, through Skankandbass Introducing we release a series of free download singles which aims to spread the work of the best unsigned, newcomer artists who deserve more recognition.

SNB062 comes from Logics, a young producer hailing from Zagreb.   With seven years of music production under his belt, the Croat talent caught our attention this year through an excellent collaboration with SNB Introducing alumni Invadhertz and his debut EP, both released on Delta9.  On ‘From The Inside / Sharp’ he displays the dark, brooding brand of drum & bass which has become his speciality.

Hailing from Suffolk, Conrad Subs - real name Adam Krolik - has been progressively building his reputation with releases on labels including Ten Ton, Deep In The Jungle, Original Key, Sub Heavy Audio and Nuusic. After featuring on our last two compilations  (5 Years of Soulvent and Winter Soul 2019), we’re pleased to announce the debut EP from the man himself.

Opener DIY Soul kicks things off with a fairly sparse intro; fuzzy pads and filtered drums give way to serious bass and a tasteful click-break. The varied percussion on display gives the track a versatile flavour and definitely aligns with its tongue-in-cheek title. 

On You opens on some super catchy vocals, while the steppy groove lays down nothing but funk. The wide synths and punchy percussive elements throughout create a hypnotic quality that is a welcome element to the EP. 

Title track In Heaven is nothing short of angelic, blissful liquid. Bouncy pads, effect laden vocals and raspy drums collide with thrumming bass and swelling, dreamlike bursts of atmosphere in lush duality. 

Awareness rounds out this well balanced EP with a very minimal affair, complete with a sense of dystopian future thanks to the eerie vocal sample and foreboding intro. Lurching bass and seemingly screaming synths meet under the light of tight percussion, resulting in a dark, subby roller that will definitely conjure bass faces.
