Etienne de la Sayette is a musical activist who defies any categorisation. Having studied jazz saxophone, his attention was quickly focused on world music, funk, reggae, soul music, and a number of varied projects with which he has toured most of the planet. He is leader and founder of Frix (jazz), Baeshi Bang (old school Korean pop), and co-founder of Akalé Wubé (ethic groove).

When he is not on tour, he composes for his bands or theatre/dance shows, for advertisements or documentary films.

In parallel to collective projects, he also revels not only in the composition of original music, but also in producing music on his own.
