Green Day paid tribute to the late Chuck Berry on Sunday with a ferocious live version of "Johnny B. Goode" in London, Ontario. Canada in this report by Dave Williams of the Norfolk Daily News. Rocker Billie Joe Armstrong led the band with a snarling delivery, backed by clattering drum fills and a wailing saxophone solo. Since Berry died on Saturday at age 90, high-profile artists have written tributes to the late rock and roll founder.

I feel proud to be British today, but perhaps for all the wrong reasons. United Kingdom Police Constable Keith Palmer gave his life defending democracy while preventing an armed terrorist from gaining access to the houses of parliament. Like most UK police, Mr. Palmer was armed only with a stick. As many trained in the martial arts will understand, he was facing a knife wielding attacker, and that there was a 50/50 chance that he would be seriously injured or killed. Unfortunately Keith Palmer paid the ultimate price defending freedom and peace. He is a national hero and proud example to Police officers everywhere

I Looked out this morning and the sun was gone. Thats how fans of epic 1970's rocking band Boston feel right now on news of the bands drummer Sib Hashian. 

Sib died suddenly yesterday performing on a special cruise ship tour devoted to the legends of rock and roll. Sib was the anchor for the Boston sound which released its ground breaking album More than a feeling in 1976. 

Boston was famous for its first album recorded with its richly layered sound with dual harmonizing guitars with all the instruments played by band founder Tom Scholz. The only instrument Tom didnt play was drums and when on tour it was up to Sib Hashian to complete the amazing Boston sound. 

Sib was more than up to the task. He was an atomic clock, a drumming locomotive. Sib is the second member of Boston to pass away. Brad Delp the lead singer died in March 2007. 

Sibs daughter is in relation with Duane “The Rock Johnson and he was one of many who paid tribute to this amazing drummer. Sib was More than a feeling and truly made the world a more beautiful place.

Happy Birthday Elton John! 

Born March 25, 1947, Reginald Kenneth Dwight in Pinner, Middlesex, England. Started piano at age 3 but Dad who was in the Royal Air Force did not want him to pursue music, thought he would be a banker. At age 11 he was in Royal Academy of Music and amazed his instructors playing music by the composer Handel  after studying it once.  By age 15 he was playing piano in pubs calling himself "Reggie"

In 1963 Elton wrote most of his iconic songs in apartment living with his mom in USA with her second husband. He Formed a band in 1964 called Bluesology. They opened for the Isley Brothers and Patty LaBelle. He created his stage name based on saxophonist Elton Dean and Long John Baldry.

Elton met Bernie Taupin in 1967 when they both applied for work at Liberty Records. Elton provided the music for Bernies Lyrics. The pair went on to be a prolific songwriting team churning out pop songs in 90 minutes. Elton was also a session piano musician on the Hollies hit,, He's my Brother.

Elton had his own first hit in 1968 with Your Song. and went on to have number one albums throughout 1972 to 1975. During this time he developed his outrageous stage presence saying if I have to sit at the piano for  two hours i am going to make them look at me. He also revealed his sexuality in 1976 and endured much criticism at the time. He was also the first western musician to play Russia in 1979.

In the 1980's he still released albums but had no top ten hits. He married Renate Blauer in 1984 and they subsequently split up in 1988. He drifted into substance abuse until the early 1990s when he went into rehab and remade himself as a broadway musical writer with great success. By 1993 he wrote the score for the Lion King which was a huge hit.

He Was knighted Sir Elton John by Queen Elizabeth and married to David Furnish in 2004 the first day gay marriages were legal in the UK. He has 2 adopted sons and still remains deeply involved in Theatre and musicals today having sold 250 million records What a life!

Some very clever pHD students at the Imperial College in London UK are making an ultrasound machine so small it will fit on a single chip. Their existing prototype is the size of a pen. 

What they are hoping to accomplish is to create an ultrasound machine so small that a patient can actually swallow it. The prospects for this kind of miniaturization are quite mind-boggling. It is imagined that the machine would travel down the entire digestive tract and scan the entire body as it goes along. 

The amount of actionable medical information the tiny ultrasound machine would collect is truly amazing and it would be far less expensive than present-day, multi-million dollar health scanners, such as MRI machines and CAT scanners.

The benefits to the patient would inexpensive, highly detailed health information and that is not such bitter pill to swallow.

Eat this ultrasound machine and call me in the morning
