These guys reminded me of TOOL but more indie/post, so I asked if I could sing over a song. I hope it inspires more collabs!

What a fun experience it was to collaborate with these guys, and they didn't even need to do anything extra! They already released an album full of awesome instrumental indie / post rock material. I heard it and wondered what it would sound like with a vocalist, and now we have our answer, lol.

Quarantine sure has done a real number on live rock music, but on the other hand we have a lot more online stuff going on. It's a wonderful opportunity for us dusty old rockers to update our firmware and get a taste of how things have changed. Being able to do this kind of thing gives me hope that although it may not ever be the same, it will still live on.

Thanks to It Was Us for being so awesome. I just straight up came at them with my idea and they were basically like "last time the vocalist idea didn't work out, but sure, send it over". A week went by and I finally sent them a rough version. I was nervous but they liked it, and they allowed me to set the lyrical concept of the song and everything, so many thanks to a great band.
