Most of this album was recorded around 2017 at the North Sea Institute for the Overmind in The Hague Holland. Early 2022 I finally had some energy to get the artwork, tracks and "mastering" etc. together. 

I went for a bit of a “mid century weird tales Clipper Flying boat LA science Fiction fanclub” vibe with this one as I was reading a lot of that stuff. Synthwise its all over the place... ‘Supernova Cherry Dessert’ is nothing but the Novation Supernova pushing its 12 DSP succulent dripping filter to the max. Also heavy use of the Waldorf Pulse 2 & Blofeld (like on Fluttering into a Pulse storm) There is some JV2080 in there too. “Where the endless minds go” = just one loop on the Roland boutique mini JP08 you can hear the notes cut off sometimes because it can’t cope with too much polyphony and the hands on control gets a bit mucky due do its microscopically sized faders ah well…. “La chaleur sombre d’un S900” which is something like the Dark brooding warmth of the S900 is just that, all sounds sampled into the lower kHz rates of an AKAI S900 for those mesmerizing undusted digital artefacts. The artwork is a painting I made called ‘The golden age of Flying boats’.

Psyched to have him on board for this special LYO numero 200 as we're fans and vinyl collectors of his stuffs for so long we can't tell.

Or yes we can, we've seen Danny playing LIVE for first time in Paris in now defunct Batofar on a Bunker Records labelnight in early 2000's.
Lucky enough to have witnessed one of his very few LIVE shows as Squadra Blanco-one of his best projects- in Tryptique Club (now called Le Sacré). 
All this during a very special time lying in our memories, when we were young enthusiastic members of the geekiest/best electronic music forum called "The Cybernetic Broadcasting System" (CBS), the ancestor of Intergalactic FM.

We also have been honored to play after him - to close the night at Rex Club some years ago (2018?)

To finally end this long laius,  we're stoked to announce him on next LYO record (on remix duty) alongside other legends DMX Krew and Cisco Ferreira's "The Advent" and rising local talent Captain Mustache. More about that soonish, don't sleep!

There are many outstanding artists within Electronic Music, however, from another galaxy far, far away there is a human named Legowelt who has created his own world separated from all others. We had the pleasure of releasing a Legowelt remix on our Dim Garden Album release some months ago and now we've released a very special mix where you can listen to unreleased Legowelt tracks and a lot of tracks that he loves.
We believe that we live in a magnificent era being spoilt for choice and that’s how I feel when listening to Legowelt live sets. I'm not exaggerating when I say that Legowelt is one of the most influential artists of our time and a top artist who has always been identified as being in the Underground scene.

Perennially fascinated by old and battered noise-making machines, his dizzying output is defined by analogue textures and classic values ​​as well as an ever-roaming sense of sonic investigation that veers from techno to freaky house deepness via old school acid. Spotted by hardcore legends Marc Acardipane and Manu Le Malin, Cuften is one of the best guardians of the rave identity of these last years in France. Since 2017, he has been shaping an uncommon sound identity between electro, IDM, techno and rave that stands out with a 100% analog sound, anchored in the future, inspired by its precursors like DMX Krew, I-F or Legowelt.
After a remarkable debut on Tripalium or Minimum Syndicat, Cuften was opened the doors of the acclaimed label Planet Phuture - the first artist other than his creator to sign on the label - by the legend Marc Acardipane, on which he signed two EPs with artworks created by Number3, creator of the Aphex Twin logo. In only a few years, Cuften performed at such prestigious stages such as Transmusicales, Le Printemps de Bourges, Astropolis or Concrete / Dehors Brut, has been acclaimed by big medias like Tsugi or Radio Nova and is playlisted by Helena Hauff.

Nowadays, Cuften makes his arrival on Astropolis Records with "Animal Suicide", a 5-track EP on vinyl including a remix by Dutch pioneer Legowelt . Digital version includes a bonus remix by French producer Cate Hortl (best known to be half of Oktober Lieber).
An EP whose purpose denounces our society’s thirst for technological progress, essentially fed with analogical instruments and sounds evoking the beginnings of techno in the late 80s and early 90s. However, if the timeless sounds of the EP evoke the past, the music of Cuften alchemizes a contemporary, inventive sound and an anti-commercial approach. A nostalgic music that deconstructs the rave heritage towards futuristic sounds, with the help of his old analogical synthesizers. A rather raw and rave first approach where the groove is however omnipresent, making Cuften's music a resolutely accessible and federative whole with its combination of D.I.Y aesthetics and vocals, mixed with an ingenious and inventive technique on the machines.

The EP opens with Animal Suicide, a melancholic and analogical melody, dark and luminous, progressively settling towards a rave rhythmic with a powerful kick. A vaporous and vintage electro with a futuristic look with its vocoded voice and its cinematographic touches.
No More Sunday Regrets is more experimental and brutal at first before giving way to a synthetic and psychedelic melody with singular rhythms and organic synths.
Unibios captivates with its luminous melody before a bewitching acid line which snakes gradually settles, accompanied by a heavy bassline.
Heart Particles calls out with a sharp contrast, with its soft voice and melody, as if the shuffle mode had landed us on an ambient record. The tempo increases progressively with an acid line and a slow and powerful rhythms, between the psychedelia of The Orb and Warp’s reveries of the 90's.
Final track is a remix by Dutch pioneer Legowelt, master of synthesizers and underground electro who has always been a great source of inspiration for Cuften. From the start, his rereading of Animal Suicide captivates with a raw and powerful bassline followed by an acid melody with strong emotional power intertwined with the original vocal. 
On the digital version, French producer Cate Hortl aka Charlotte Boisselier, former member of Oktober Lieber and freshly signed on the trendy label Ritmo Fatale closes the EP with an ecstatic remix of No More Sunday Regrets, combination of italo, industrial, synth techno and dark wave. A great revision with the most exciting elements of the club culture, full of 80’s vibes.

Brian Anthony was also a part of the very experimental sounds of Psycho Beat Warriors. It was the creation of strange numbers and sounds with Claus Rosenblad (PL Imots)

Everything was recorded in the pure improvisation way and live in between 1991-1996. - Old analog synthesizers, drum modules and distortion pedals have been used extensively to create this collage of abominable noise og non follow beats. There have not been any used computers, the sounds are not saved - in short, this is a one-take! Inspiration: probably none - but maybe polish furniture history in 1981 and AM Radio porridge!
