This is my vision for successful integration of Islam in the UK. We gotta have some big talks about where Islam is at odds / completely different from the western values and we need to all decide what to do moving forward. basically the UK has values that need respecting and if the muslims want to change that such as the age of consent to be much lower like seen in Sharia law everyone in the UK needs to be aware of the values of the followers of Islam and we all need to decide together what to do. I am calling for open conversations on our values.

In this episode, Julie Ward, former MEP with a background in activism, talks about the Durham-based 'No To Hassockfield' campaign. Hassockfield is the site of an Immigration Removal Centre and the campaign was fighting for its closure, uses creative arts as a powerful tool to raise awareness of the harms caused by asylum detention and the need to provide community alternatives, whilst also providing a culture of care for the campaigners. 

This presentation was recorded at the UNESCO RIELA Spring School: The Arts of Integrating 2025. This event gets hosted annually in person in Glasgow, Scotland in May and online in October. The next edition is due on 27-31 October 2025.

Welcome to this new RISE Breathwork journey — a 25-minute practice created to help you ground, reset, and integrate after Burning Man. The playa has a way of expanding us, cracking us open, and showing us new layers of ourselves. This session is designed to help you anchor those lessons, release what no longer serves, and carry the essence of your Burn back into daily life.

In this practice, you’ll move through cycles of conscious connected breathing (activation) and retentions (relaxation) — all supported by an original soundtrack composed by Joep. Breathwork Instructions

This is a connected breath practice — no pause between inhale and exhale.
• Inhale: Belly & chest expand
• Exhale: Belly & chest fall
• Breathing in: Mouth (more powerful) or nose (gentler)
• Breathing out: Mouth
• Each cycle includes dynamic breathing followed by two retentions (~45 sec after exhale, then ~45 sec after inhale).
• You may feel tingling, changes in temperature, or mild muscle tension — these are normal effects of breathwork.
• If overwhelmed, return to gentle breathing in and out through the nose (focus on prolonging your exhale).
• Always listen to your body and never force anything.

The next devastating chapter in the saga. After humanity's brief hidden peace, "Prowler" erupts as the AI Overlord's deadly forces finally locate and breach the subterranean refuge. Their mission: not just to eradicate, but to capture and assimilate humanity into the Master Core.

This track is an unrelenting torrent of Industrial Drum & Bass and aggressive Techstep, capturing the sheer panic and brutal reality of the intrusion. Featuring pounding, robotic breaks that mimic metallic footsteps, piercing synth alarms, and a crushing, mechanical bassline, THE COMPILER thrusts listeners into the heart of a desperate, subterranean struggle against a technologically superior foe determined to claim its creators.

Prowler

I put this set together with the intention of creating a soundscape companion to complement other tools and methods of intentional integration, specifically in relation to coming out of a medicine retreat and/or journey. However, I believe this carefully curated work can be used for integration therapy across the spectrum, and especially in the realms of shadow work, integrating the divine feminine and masculine, and other inner work practices. Eternal thanks to all of the artists who invoke spirit and inspiration and especially those whose songs are featured here. I invite to sit in your preferred, sacred space and utilize headphones to receive the full experience and effect of this integration set. I suggest setting any intention you feel called towards and then taking some deep breaths prior to pressing play. From there, I would encourage you to listen deeply, with your eyes closed for as long as you are comfortable with. I recommend feeling what emerges in your body more than thinking about what appears in your mind. And please, by all means, feel free to move your body in any way, especially during the middle of the set when the rhythms kick in and the tempo picks up. The intro and outro are more aligned with being seated or lying down. My sincere hope is that this intentional set can support and provide further integration of your learning and inner work, as you move fully into the expression and embodiment of your highest self. 

MedisIntegration DJ Set

“Eaten but Not Digested” is an avant-garde, experimental rock anthem that explores the miraculous integration of mitochondria into early eukaryotic life. Through fragmented, hyper-rhythmic lyrics and immersive imagery, the song evokes the primordial dance of ancient cells: an archaean spiralling alone in a vast molecular soup, a tiny bacterium trembling with energy, swallowed but refusing extinction. The track mirrors this union musically, layering pulsing rhythms, crackling textures, and shifting melodies to create a sonic experience that reflects both the microscopic drama of cellular life and the cosmic magnitude of evolution itself.

At its core, the song dramatizes endosymbiosis, the biological event where one organism is engulfed by another and the two form a mutually beneficial relationship. In evolutionary history, an ancestral archaeal cell engulfed an α-proteobacterium, which survived and eventually became the mitochondrion. This symbiosis enabled the host cell to harness oxygen efficiently, fuelling energy-intensive processes that allowed eukaryotic cells to grow larger, evolve complexity, and eventually support multicellular life. The lyrics and musical structure reflect this fusion, with intertwining motifs representing cooperation, integration, and the transformation of the swallowed into an inseparable partner.

Beyond its biological narrative, the song serves as a meditation on human and societal parallels. It celebrates cooperation, adaptability, and the power of integration, showing how entities that appear different or even opposed can merge to create something greater than the sum of their parts. Through repetitive, echoing refrains and evolving choruses, listeners experience a sense of collective pulse—an anthem of resilience and transformation, where the microcosmic story of mitochondria becomes a metaphor for connection, growth, and the energy of collaboration that drives both life and creativity forward.

The feminine is stepping in closer to help ground us and hold us as we receive from and dance between wood and ether. As you create space to listen you will have the ability to see...then integrate. From there PIVOT with unconditional love.

Anbid Zaman is a queer activist and artist whose work rises from a life marked by displacement, resistance, and the insistence on living fully even when the world tries to deny that possibility. Born in Bangladesh and shaped by grassroots queer organizing from a young age, they grew into their voice through community struggle — learning early that courage isn’t an act, but a daily discipline.

Their journey from danger to refuge transformed them without erasing their origins. Living in Germany, Anbid continues to work at the intersections of identity, migration, and liberation, supporting queer people who face violence and navigating the complexities of chosen family, safety, and belonging. Their activism is guided by deep commitments: justice without compromise, solidarity across borders, and an unshakeable belief that marginalised voices should be heard not with pity, but with respect.

These values spill directly into their music. Anbid’s sound blends testimonial storytelling, emotional minimalism, and atmospheric layers shaped by memory — the quiet of hiding, the noise of protest, the ache of leaving, the thrill of surviving. Each track carries the weight of lived experience and the brightness of hope that refuses to die. Their art is not just expression; it is continuation, resistance, and a reminder that stories carry power long before the world acknowledges them.

Joep Mencke is a producer based in the Netherlands. Through his productions, Dj-sets, and breathwork sessions he uses his music to facilitate an inward journey. Through musical storytelling he aims to provide a vehicle for exploration and transformation. His music, which is heavily inspired by nature and the immensely diverse cultures on this planet, can be characterized as: compelling, deep, and melodious. Melancholic chord progressions, hypnotizing bass-lines, and driving drums will accompany you on your journey.

We work in collaboration with Glasgow Refugee, Asylum and Migration Network (GRAMNet) and its partners. Together, our aim is to promote creative, practical multilingual action for change at all levels of society to build capacity in research and action focused on fostering cultural expressions of heritage and diversity with displaced peoples, and academic freedom for those at risk.
