Had another listen, this is one of my favorites of yours! Brilliant work, Eric!

When I wrote this song, I had a female voice mind. I sent it to Nat Daniels and asked her if she was interested in singing it.  Long story short, both Nat and Craig got their creative juices flowing and came up with this beautiful rendition of the song. Ive always admired their work and it was a privilege to be able to do this with them. I hope you all like it!

Is This Who I Think It Is

Here is a new track I wrote and recorded.

The song was written as part of a concept album that I started a year or so ago. I may never actually record the full album but might release the songs over time. The album was going to be about my ancestors living in Newfoundland and the stories i heard over the years.

This one is about the story of how Braggs Island (where my grandfather was born) got its name. I heard the story from my late cousin Sam Feltham. He said there was a small community living on the Island and one tough winter they ran out of supplies and were in a bad way. A man named Bragg and his two sons loaded a boat with supplies and attempted to bring relief to them. In the process and storm developed and the ship sank and Bragg and his sons were drowned. They named the Island after them in honor of the selfless sacrifice they made.

I tried to capture with sound the feeling of sailing on icy seas. Also I wanted to tell the story in an artistic way. Not sure if the song is any good but hope some of you enjoy it.

Looking back I would never want to get away.

First, I would like to say thank you for reading this. That means that you liked my songs enough to see what I’m about. That means a lot to me.
I’m a working man and a family man. The years digging ditches and breaking my back to put food on the table, has given me enough ammo to write a song or two. I like to write songs about real life with all of its struggles, beauty and grit…

In this digital age of perfect music I'm trying to leave the human imperfections in the tracks. Most parts are done straight through with no splices. A missed note or chord here or there, bit out of time...trying to keep it raw. Maybe I go too far sometimes?
