The Russian born, Copenhagen via Tokyo resident Oqbqbo’s first solo release for Posh Isolation comes in the form of an untitled mini album released digitally and as a limited cassette, following a few self released recordings and soundcloud singles, besides her recent contribution to KYO’s remix album of “All The Same Dream”. 
Her Posh Isolation debut consists of six songs of synthetic textures and mangled, wordless voices and paints a beautiful dark portrait of the present.

eel is a music label/party series focused on promoting forward-thinking electronic music with a special connection to Cornwall founded by Annie Hockeysmith(Hockeysmith) and omoo. Inspired by the regions heavy connections to the 90s rave culture and its most famous propagators Aphex Twin and Luke Vibert, eel’s main goal was to build a community of more experimental-leaning electronic music producers in the county and to provide a platform for them to be heard around the world.

Since eel’s launch, they held a wide-variety of events, ranging from barn parties, club events mixing both DJ and live music; to a multi-stage multimedia ambient show at the Falmouth Art Gallery. Eel has also brought an array of underground artists to Cornwall, including: Iglooghost, BABii, Gribs and CLUBKELLY.

Quote: “With our home being so far away from any major cultural hubs we had to create our own fun. We borrowed equipment from uni and built our own stages wherever we could get a late license. There is a lot of really amazing genre-bending electronic music producers, all brought together by Cornwall and the wild and rugged landscape. We wanted to give a platform to our weird and wonderful friends. We are the Cornish Ibiza, but with pubs and just one club.

'While EEL as a collective has involved people from diverse parts of the world from it's inception, our lives all first connected in Cornwall, or “the end of the world” as some might call it. This is where EEL was born, and where we have grown a new scene out of almost nothing. For us it has been a home, and the place where EEL became something real and tangible - a familiar place where we danced and gathered around the monolithic stones. “men an tol” - a new compilation album from eel - is a celebration of the Cornish creative community and electronic music scene. Named after the ancient standing stones of men-an-tol, the stones were once believed to cure ailments, ward off witchcraft and see into the future. Many of us have found inspiration in the folklore here, putting the spirit of that into our music.

These 14 tracks will take you on a journey through experimental electronica of all shapes and sizes. An aural representation of the rugged coastlines, picturesque countryside and euphoric escapism of the alternative night life - from the dark natural ambiences found in the caves of the north coast, like gaping maws faced toward the treacherous sea, to a rave in the woods where the air hums with the electricity of distorted kick drums and subterranean bass. “men an toll” is an insight into the authentic and original sounds of contemporary electronic music made in, and inspired by, Cornwall. A musical postcard from us to the world.'

Gamma sees seamouse dive straight into dense rythms of aggresive, complex drum breaks and dark flowing synth lines. His signature washed out ambience takes a back seat here, and provides a bed for the the chaotic rythmic elements and tumultuously evolving structure to float across. By the final minutes, it becomes a climax of indecipherable processed vocal hooks courtesy of Annie Hockey-Smith crashing into melancholy, futuristic FM melodies carried along atop the relentlessly careening drum programming.
