AfricaNow! Special May 15, 2024 Black, Workers and Palestine

Topics and Guests: A special edition of AfricaNow! This program is part of Radio Free Palestine, an annual 24-hour marathon airing on Nakbah Day, May 15, 2024 with participation from community and progressive radio stations and producers across five continents.  The 24-hour special on Nakbah Day was produced internationally by Radio Free Palestine, with the English stream produced by WPFW.     

AfricaNow! begins by going into our archives of a show in which we explore Black and Palestine...its history, challenges, and opportunities with Dr. Ajamu Dillahunt and Dr. Tasneem Siddiqui.  Dr. Ajamu Amiri Dillahunt is Assistant Professor in the Department of History at NC State.   Dr. Tasneem Siddiqui Assistant Professor in the Department of History and the Program in Africana Studies at Drexel University.   Dr. Siddiqui is also a valued member of the Africa World Now Project collective where she is a senior researcher and associate producer. Also featured is a conversation on the Working-Class Perspective on The Palestinian Issue. With Ahlam Shehadeh Activist, Registered Certified Medical Assistant; and Mary Hooks Organizer in the Stop Cop City Movement, Movement for Black Lives Southerners Underground. This is part of the series a rapid response organized by The Communiversity South of which AfricaNow!’s James Pope is member of. It was also organized by Africa World Now Project and Black Workers for Justice.
