Airbourne, Sonic Fiction & Rollers Music Artist A.L.F. passed away Suddenly 10 minutes into a performance with LUCIAN on the 13th July 2019 in Sydney Australia.

After being friends for 30+ years and Dj'ing together for 25 years, A.L.F. & LUCIAN had played Back2Back for decades, from the granny flat in Miranda to clubs around Sydney and the East Coast of Australia. They were the closest of friends since school and to help with the grieving process, LUCIAN decided to finish the final Back2Back set they started on the 13th July 2019.

Replicating the actual start of the set and then using only the folder he had selected for the night, this is a deeply personal tribute to A.L.F, it is fitting LUCIAN finished what they started on the night of his passing and 25 years ago.

Taking you across the spectrum of DNB dance-floor bangerz, Liquid DNB, Jungle and early 90's UK Hardcore, you always needed to be prepared for what A.L.F. might play on any given night, he was predictably... unpredictable.

LUCIAN - The Final B2B in memory of A.L.F. (July 2019)

ABSF has never been about a style, but a unique vibe to lift a crowd and make you feel and move.  

The crew formed in 2002 and have been friends for more than two decades. 

Long before that, they started out as young ravers obsessed by the futuristic sounds of rave, hardcore, garage, jungle and drum & bass, all of which fuelled their passion to DJ, and persistence to grind away and push the sounds of the underground to the Sydney masses.

Airbourne is synonymous with pushing a diverse sound of drum & bass to the Harbour City’s dance floors with their rolling drums and bouncy bass lines. Whether it be feel-good, or get down and dirty style, they have a soundtrack for every occasion. Enticing crowds with their unpredictable musical selection, you never know what to expect, but know it will be good vibes a plenty.

DJ’s A.L.F. (RIP), munk, LUCIAN, Ed Gee, Vice Versa and GUY have been mainstays of the Sydney scene from the clubs, music production, Rollers Music on 2SER Radio and heavily active on SoundCloud with mixes, they are always pushing their own unique style of drum & bass with no fixed subgenre or era.

LUCIAN is Co Owner of Sonic Fiction Recordings and emerged in the late 1990s, known for his deep, atmospheric, and tech-driven sound. His dynamic DJ sets, characterized by fast-paced, layered, and precise mixing, have made him a crowd favourite. This reputation earned him the opportunity to support some of Drum & Bass most influential names, including Calibre, Total Science, Bad Company, Marcus Intalex, Jubei, Commix, Aphrodite, Moving Fusion, Bailey, Ray Keith, J Majik, Friction, A Sides, Delicat, Ulterior Motive, and Patife.

For over three decades, LUCIAN has been promoting in Sydney, creating successful club nights like Sonic Fiction, United, Momentum, Joined at the Bass, and Airbourne. These nights helped solidify Sydney's Drum & Bass culture, ensuring the genre’s underground roots continued to thrive and evolve. This dedication led to successful tours across Australia’s East Coast, including Melbourne, Canberra, and Brisbane.

After stepping back to focus on family, LUCIAN is back in the trenches with renewed fire, driving Sonic Fiction Recordings alongside MiRaj (Vice Versa) and ED GEE. Who are on a mission to champion the next wave of Drum & Bass talent.
