'Wait by the Water' was recorded a few months ago at the theatre de l'Athénée in Paris with the gifted violinist Jasser Haj Youssef.
I wrote it after having finished Between Dogs and Wolves album with the live show in mind. I wanted to sing something that would work as a way of tuning ourselves into the right frequency in order to listen to quiet and intimate music.

Following the events that occurred in several countries and closer to us in Paris and in response to the media and community’s reactions, we have decided to gather around between friends and record a version of Los Hermanos, written by Atahualpa Yupanqui, to advocate the importance of being united. Hatred breeds hatred. War breeds war.

El odio engendra el odio. La guerra engendra la guerra.

Argentinian twin sisters Laura et Gianna Caronni were born in a family of Swiss, Italian, Russian and Spanish origins, where the music of Opera and Tango intertwined. They studied classical music, moved to France in 1998, where they played with Argentinian musicians (Juan Cedron, Juan Carlos Cáceres...). The sisters’ music reflects all these musical influences and something more, intimate and personal, that only belongs to them.

Gianna et Laura Caronni sont deux soeurs jumelles d'origine argentine nées sous le signe du tango, ascendants candombé,  chacarera, milonga et musique classique. Leurs chansons, c’est la synthèse de tout cela, et tout autre chose à la fois, une nostalgie aux sons chauds et caressants du violoncelle et de la clarinette, et deux voix en parfaite harmonie.
