Levitate is an exciting and upcoming warehouse day party that is bringing a new culture of partying to Sydney of enjoying music and community sustainably. As a co-founder of this event, this launch party and set were incredibly special. The space, lighting, and décor were visually stunning (you can get a glimpse of the insane laser show LitnessLights provided in the image), but more importantly, the crowd brought so much stoke, love, and playfulness that made the day truly magical. It really felt like the beginning of a divine new community who are going to shake up the Sydney party scene and generate a new way of enjoying music, dance, and togetherness while carrying the good vibes into the week. Music producer and DJ, and proud trans woman, Jemma (AJEM) has an instatiable lust for bush techno and psytech, with its balance of intensity and spacious beats to inspire creative movement. She has a taste for music that evokes feelings, thoughts, and a sense of wonder and play. She invites you on deep journeys into warm and dark psychedelic sound scapes and thumping techno beats. Her intention is to create spaces where we connect deeply to our bodies and each other through sound and movement. Expect to be held captive by hypnotic grooves and filthy subfrequencies. She has played at various bush doofs around Sydney, including Dragon Dreaming, Rabbits Eat Lettuce, Art Valley, Weaselstock, Tribe Ascension, Earthen Rhythmics and Vyoma.
