Turns out that 80s rock and indie pop aren't all that different. I thought--OK, I still think that this is a pretty kickass revelation. After that thought experiment, I decided to kick it up a notch and make a whole damn song out of it. I remixed "Let's Dance" by David Bowie because I already had the vocal stem for it, because of this thought experiment. Also, it's a kickass song.

The chord sound was an attempt to emulate the chord sound from this track: https://soundcloud.com/ambalogic/your-love-finest-thing . I got close-ish, although I did some different stuff with the echoing.

I was originally trying to go for a Radio Mirror Park hipster-indie style, but that chord sound and the nifty dry disco-y snare I made for the verse sections (I made the reverb-y 80s drums later) pulled the remix into Com Truise/Trevor Something territory. Which I was totally cool with.

That last line is Herbie Hancock about the Fairlight CMI. 

This is the first track I can think of where I made heavy use of sung vocals--rather, vocals that were ever uttered by humans. (The RapBot is different....and IT SHALL RETURN! Someday.)

I'm getting better at mixing and mastering, which I'm super happy about. I hope you like this remix as much as I liked making it.
