Anything wrong with right now? It is sometimes easy to fall into the trap of thinking  that everything was better before, especially as a parent. Thought I'd look up some statistics and see how things stack up vs around 30 years ago. Turns out violent crime is down by over 50% since a high in the early 90s - property crime is also down by 40% - of course there is nothing about that meaning we shouldn't strive to improve further and try to get back to the even lower rates in the 60s. Like the crime rate, the poverty rate fluctuates a lot, but in 1990 it was estimated that 13.5% of the US population lived under the poverty line whereas in 2021 it had been reduced by 14% to 11.6%. In this song I have focused a bit on hard to measure things like the choices a lot of people have today compared to before, in terms of finding their own path vs being set on a path by parents and, importantly, the choice to love who you want. So, we are safer, less poor and have more freedom, but overall happiness levels in the US are apparently at the lowest level in 50 years. Given that the US is predominately a middle class society this might be explained by a fifty year trend of increasing income inequality. The wealthy and poor are better off economically but for a very large swath of the US population things have become more difficult. Clearly there are things to work on. Nevertheless, in many ways, especially with a longer perspective we are so much better off today vs before.

My Bio

Born and raised in South Central Los Angeles, California, Tony is the second oldest of 8 siblings who are also musically talented. With a soul busting tenor voice and a vast array of vocal techniques. A vocal explorer who has combined jazz, folk and a multitude of world music influences from choral, a Capella to classical music with his own ingredients.

He has been known to extend his vocal repertoire to simply create entirely new sounds. Tony has worn a wide variety of hats over the years, From lifeguard, librarian, Teacher's Assistant to U.S. Army Retired Soldier. He's roots have been Gospel , R&B, Classic Rock, Classical Jazz and many of the great Classical Jazz Standards.

He is also a well respected balladeer among his peers. The singer/musician is so diverse and unpredictable, one never knows what he will do or what to expect from one of his performances. He is quite capable of mixing with a lot of different styles of music, but has a deep love for singing true love ballads and songs that fill your spirit with Love and Joy.

Tony is also a organic gardener, speaking out about gmo's ( genetically modified organisms) Chemical free food is the only right food. Also. Tony is a practicing Usui Reike Master, certified to work with humans and pets.
