AkaHendy is a Vancouver-based producer whose music weaves together fragments of his memories and experiences into a rich tapestry of sound. Originally from Winnipeg, his deep connection to the natural world—whether hiking, camping, or unwinding by a fire—shapes his sonic landscapes.

Since 2016, AkaHendy has been releasing music that captures the essence of his journey, with each track serving as a piece of his life story. His sound delves into the depths of World Bass, Future Bass, Dubstep, Glitch Hop, and Drum & Bass, where earthy rhythms meet intricate, boundary-pushing textures. These compositions are more than just tracks; they are echoes of the places he’s explored and the vibrant festival scenes that have inspired him.

hOw:  As a consummate crate-digger his days are spent down the rabbit-holes of sound, constantly discovering emerging talent and the hidden gems of sonic possibility. With an ear for the exotic and a background in movement arts, his approach is through the emotive keyhole of the psyche, while unlocking the heart of the dancefloor community. As a percussionist who’s adventured extensively throughout the near and far east, his mixes span all tempos and all genres of electronic dance music. His selections are drenched in global idioms, accented with tribal motifs, and interwoven with relentlessly intoxicating rhythm and groove.
