Rob Mullen passed away unexpectedly from cardiac arrest at age 67 while on a walk with friends through the redwoods of Elk River Valley in Eureka, CA. 
Rob worked for the Parks department of Santa Cruz for many years until he landed his dream job as music librarian and DJ host at KUSP, the now defunct local community radio station. 
His loyal listeners knew him as "Mr. Earl", a nickname that came from the Cadillacs' 1959 hit, "Speedo." He was the host of the beloved Friday night oldies show, "Land of 1000 Dances."
A long time KUSP employee, Rob served as Program Direct or, Music Director and host of NPR's flagship news magazine, "All Things Considered." After KUSP, he became a volunteer music programmer at KZSC, where he hosted a morning show, "The Main Stem." Rob also DJ'd at KHIP and KPIG.

Rob leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Sally Mullen (Mallet); son, Ian Mullen of Portland, OR; daughter, Zenna Weis; son-in-law, Sky, and his prized granddaughter, Eyva Weis of Santa Cruz. He is also survived by his brothers, Dave Mullen (June) of Lake Forest, CA and Jim Mullen (Jeri) of Cape Coral, FL plus friends and family throughout California and Massachusetts.
