Beirut’s Bachir Salloum continues a prolific run of high-quality releases and label debuts, joining Akbal Music with four-tracker ‘Everything Is Now’. The rising talent hasn’t looked back since early support from Black Coffee, Damian Lazarus, Patrice Bäumel, Henry Saiz and more launched his international career.
The EP has a deliberately varied range of moods. ‘I wanted to create a variety of choices from intro tracks to bridge and peak time slots,’ says Bachir, whose sets deftly balance melody with emotion. 
‘Everything Is Now’ has an intriguing, slow start with mingling elements scattering impressions, picking up the pace with thoughtful piano fragments introduced during the extended breakdown. A more ambient contribution to the EP. 
‘Eclipse’ lays down a relentless percussive groove riffing on the central melody, with some growling synths and menacing horns in the background, gradually gaining in speed and force.  
‘Sunflower Fields’ starts with shaking maraccas and light bongo percussion, giving a sunny feel, before a complex bass riff kicks in, followed by a melody on pizzicato strings from the breakdown onwards. More of a rollocking pace to this one, a versatile track for your feet as much as your ears. The LADS remix brings humming, melancholic synth chords to the fore, with distant voices of children at play juxtaposed with them in the extended breakdown. 
‘I used the moog Sub 37 to write the main melodies for ‘Everything Is Now’ including omnisphere supporting pads and TR8 for drums. With ‘Sunflower Fields’ I used the TR8 to focus more on the groove. With ‘Eclipse’ I had the melody playing in my head one night in quarantine while I was sleeping; I woke up and wrote it straight away, then built the track around it.’
An alumnus of Beirut’s famous club scene, Salloum’s new EP is a worthy successor to his 3rd Avenue debut, joining imprints like Balance and Juicebox Music in his impressive back catalogue. Several more exciting releases are planned for this summer too, as his relentless rise continues.

A marvel of astronomical art: here is 'Pink Moon', the latest EP from renowned producer duo Dole & Kom. This time, they take us on a journey past historical landmarks all the way to space. Neither in 'Jamestown' nor in the titular 'Pink Moon' did Dole & Kom have to compromise between a driving groove and a cerebral, meditative vibe. A perfect atmospheric (or should we say stratospheric?) mix. In any case: Pack your telescope, head straight to the dance floor and listen to the sound of the universe. 'Pink Moon' is out now!

'Beat & Path is proud to announce the first LP by Out of Sorts, A Figure of Speech. This five-track mini-album is a lockdown baby that fed on the quietness of a country on pause only to result in a labyrinthine of sonic life. Here, the techno and house duo's creation is a concoction of simmering and deeply rolling sounds resulting in a downright blazing dancefloor blitz.
 
For Beat & Path, A Figure of Speech summons the first of what will be a series of electronic mini albums that aim to capture a slice of where each label artist is creatively. 
 
"Lickity Split" delivers depth in the first instance and brings the Out Of Sorts sound right to the forefront for its entirety. Here, the contrast between the grit and grime of the gravely bottom ends are balanced with intricate, precision programming in the tops (also ushered in with the softest of strings). Combined with the haunting vocal, this is an intoxicating seven minutes that invites you to feel something from this maze of electronic complexity.'

"With a solid body of material on labels including Diynamic, Stil Vor Talent and Hart & Tief, Hamburg based artist Stimming has firmly cemented himself as a clear stand out name since making his production debut back in 2007. With a decade of experience in the bag, including notable appearances at the likes of Watergate and Brooklyn Mirage and a who’s who of names from the melodic house world making up his list of supporters, here we see the German talent joined by South African poet Lazarusman to deliver two versions of their hypnotic production ‘Your Dreams’ as Gruuv partner with UNICEF for Universal Children’s Day 2018.

“Tuesday 20th November is Universal Children's Day - a United Nations backed initiative to mark the date when the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child. The UN have announced this day will be a # KidsTakeOver, where “UNICEF has invited children from around the world taking over key roles in media, politics, business, sport and entertainment to voice their support for millions of their peers who are unschooled, unprotected and uprooted on 20th November.”

Your Dreams is a poem about fatherhood, parenthood, uncles and aunties, adults, those of us who are responsible and willing to inspire and help shape the humans of the future. “Let me hold them and guide them to become the dreams that they are meant to be.'

Lazarusman first worked with Stimming 10 years ago and they have since both become dads, a thought which inspired him to write this poem. Both of us in Audiojack and Ali from Tiefschwarz have young children too. We’ll be inviting our children to work with us in the studio, DJ booth, club or office on this day, so keep look out for the videos. We’ll also be donating all proceeds from record sales of this EP on Children’s day to UNICEF.” - Audiojack

2020 has been a rough year for many; this doesn’t mean 2021 has to start in the same fashion. We are excited to announce that this January @nazcarecords presents a throwback to their 14th release, "Signals" EP by Thimble. What makes it different? Each track of this record is a remix signed by three exceptional Spanish artists: @animal-picnic, @memo_official and Clemente.

This next release has at its core the value of unity and closure within the community. The Viracochas, beings of a different world and the Nazcas, lovers of art, beauty and nature have inspired Los Suruba, fathers of this label to look into their musical community, share the values of our characters with national artists, and bring light upon their creations. The Nazcas and Viracochas have taught us that there is no future without collaboration and passion, and, this new release reveals to us just that. 

The entire E.P. has intense grooves, solid drums, great melodies, ethnic notes and percussive work-outs. Animal Picnic´s remix starts in a very promising way with uplifting crescendo melodies and soft vocals. M.E.M.O. steps in with tones that are more bizarre where sophisticated synths mix with bells and percussions. Last but not least, Clemente rethinks Thimble´s track more progressively and throws in a very discrete sexy male vocal.
