I've had an interest in music for as long as I can remember. 20+ years ago I started chopping up and rearranging songs to create new tracks (poorly). I had no clue what I was doing, but loved it. Fast forward 20 years and I decided to try to learn more about production so that I can make music that I enjoy. 

I'm currently getting lost in tracks from the 80's & 90's and seeing what I can do with them. Definitely still learning and open to feedback.

Experimental dance music

ako (Simeon Soden) infuses influences from obscure elements of electronic & dance music, including vaporwave & witchhouse, with experimental IDM. When performing, ako creates AV experiences using VHS, CGI & modified games consoles. He has released music on Sunset grid (Aus.), SPRIX (USA), N-aut, Nothing but, HOT-Q & Kaneda Records and has been played on BBC6 Music.

📼 Influenced by old console game soundtracks, VHS aesthetics, cyberpunk worlds, the old internet and Y2K electronic culture. Making tracks for late-night gaming sessions, nostalgia trips, and digital escapism. 

🌙 Emotional breakcore, atmospheric jungle and nostalgic 2000's PlayStation era inspired beats trying to capture the feeling of booting up a PS2 in a dark room at 2AM. 

💿 If you like producers like LTJ Bukem, Blu Marten, Source Direct or early PlayStation soundtracks, Ridge Racer, WipEout, and late-90s game music you'll like this.
