About this journey :
In my new mix for the Cosmovision records podcast, I tried to show those musical trends and sound that are most interesting to me now in the huge world of downtempo and electronic. In this mix, the accents of my attention are shifting from ethnicity towards rough tech sound. Many thanks to the musicians and producers who became a guides of this sound. Love, peace & electronic.

He has been performing as a DJ since '95, in recent years he became interested in slow dance electronics and downtempo and began to realize his own musical ideas. At the moment, he actively publishes his tracks on the world's leading labels (Kosa records, Serafin audio imprint, Gazgolderclub label, down., Lump records, Baikal nomads, Hug, Shango), collaborates with live musicians and plays as a dj.

The Angolan born artist is well established in the Portuguese scene as a refined music selector.
His talent to rescue rare gems from the past and serve them in a progressive folktronic downtempo set, has infused a new flavor into slow techno for time to come.

“...by maintaining the pensive state felt at the time of soft and steady exhalation and during passive retention after exhalation.” The sutra refers to a method of breath control which also relaxes the mind and keeps it from fluctuating.

For Tobi (and us, too), the most important element in music is always the rhythm. As we’re constantly inhaling and exhaling (pracchardana) through our lives, the rhythm reflects this principle of existance and so does the mix you are about to hear.

The Aztec is one of the few older civilizations that featured mandatory education at home and in schools. Every child was educated, no matter his or her social status, whether noble, commoner or slave.

All children were taught a large collection of sayings called the huehuetlatolli, which incorporated Aztec ideas and teachings. The Aztec culture expected well-behaved people so children were taught to be humble, obedient and hardworking. 

The huehuetlatolli included many sayings on all aspects of life, from welcoming newborn infants to the family to what to say at the death of a relative. Every few years, the children were called to the temple and tested on how much they had learned of this inherited cultural knowledge.

For the first 14 years of life, boys and girls were taught at home by their parents. After that, the boys attended either the noble school, called a calmecac, or the commoners’ school, the telpochcalli. Girls went to a separate school, where they learned household skills, religious rituals, singing and dancing or craftwork. Some talented girls were chosen to be midwives and received the full training of a healer. Other athletically talented girls might be sent to the house of dancing and singing for special training.

After being blown away by so many awesome tracks with so much feeling and soul I felt myself taking a completely new musical direction & had to explore more. I grew up with the Balearic Sound and it never really left me. This type of sound reminds me of the hidden Ibiza with the hippies jamming with live hypnotic percussion, mountainous backgrounds and rolling seas. This mix showcases many different instruments and influences from around the world that I have been lucky enough to see and experience. I hope you like this story..
