This week we are thrilled to welcome back Aglaia Rave, German DJ/producer and former owner of Cosmos Radio.

Aglaia got acquainted with electronic music at age 16, thanks to her brother. She absorbed the sounds of Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, Fischer-Z., Pink Floyd, Front 242 and others. 

In 2012, Aglaia went to work at an Italian radio station. The following year she opened their web radio, «Radio Deephouseparade» which worked quite successfully. In 2016 she made the jump to open «CosmosRadio.de» which continues to this day. Its programs delight a large number of people around the world and offer programming in the styles of house, techno, progressive house, deep house and tech house.

She is featured on many online radio stations such as TM-Radio.com, Etymologie and more recently UGM radio, ElbrusRadio.ru, ART Radio Online, Hits4You.fm & ENCYCLOPEDIA SUPPORTS ARTISTS by LEO BΔROSO & TheDeeproom Beachgrooves Radio Ibiza 101.1 FM. You can expect nice blends and precise mixing with Aglaia Rave’s sets and that will make you go in a hypnotic groove.

Lucas Zarate is a young DJ/producer born in 2001 in Tucumán, in the north of Argentina.

From a young age, he became interested in the world of electronic music, exploring its more commercial side and discovering sounds that would later lead him to find a unique sound.

At the age of 18, he began his career as a DJ playing in well-known venues in his city, where he would form and slowly develop a distinctive sound.

In 2021 Lucas began to develop as a music producer trying to captivate the ears of his listeners with fresh sounds, forceful rhythms and interesting melodies. Lucas continues to search for a sound that truly represents him but along the way he has already had enough achievements to know that he is on the right path, through support from Nick Warren, Sebastien Leger and Gorje Hewek.

In the year 2023, Lucas joins forces with prominent figures in the organic scene such as Dulus, Molac, Alberto Hernandez, and Nicolas Viana to form the musical collective called "Sendas." The collective is dedicated to spreading electronic sounds with a Latin flavour. Currently, the project is gaining recognition and support from renowned artists in the scene, including Sebastien Leger, Gorje Hewek, and M.O.S, among others.

I was thinking about all the long waits in line for Burning Man tickets over the years and decided to give some of you something to listen to while the walking person icon slowly makes its way across the screen holding all our hopes in its little tiny pixel hands. 

The wait time  is usually about as long as it took to get from one side of the playa to the other last year after it rained and the playa shrimp rose up to attempt to take over the world!! 

Burning Mud. Mudding man. Raining man. Remember the wild stories (all from the outside media or Diplo and Chris Rock) vs the kindness and generosity of strangers out on the playa. I hope, even if faced with adversity last year, maybe, just maybe, you also saw how wonderful people can be when called upon in a ‘crisis’. 

I was lucky enough to stay until Tuesday night and grateful to still get to play a sunrise on the Robot Heart albeit a few days later than planned. There was so much love in the air that (finally) beautiful morning. If you missed it or want to listen once more or are just bored and looking for something to distract you while waiting in line for this years tickets (I’ll be waiting too) then here’s burning man/mud/magic 2023.  Feel the love in the air and the tickle of playa shrimp on the soles of your feet.

The old adage "they don't make them like they used to" might seem trite; however, it certainly applies to Belgian producer Pole Folder. During the 2000s, his knack for delivering epic and soaring productions that immersed you into a world of narrative was unparalleled. Listen to the amazing "Apollo Vibes" (alongside CP); it is intricate yet feels huge, unfolding its themes with the confidence of a master magician. All that craft ensured his music being featured on prominent US TV shows (Nip/Tuck, CSI) and movies (2002’s "Stark Raving Mad"). 

Today, Pole Folder is still acknowledged as a versatile performer who continues to tour globally, bringing his intricate studio creations to life with live vocals and various instruments he has mastered since childhood. And the gig was as unique as expected - with sweat dripping down the ceiling onto the equipment which cause some technical errors in the beginning but we were able to fix it. Weird Sounding Dude is a Bangalore-based music producer/DJ. Drawing his influences from the likes of James Holden, Extrawelt, and Nathan Flake. Weird Sounding Dude's trademark chuggy grooves, squelchy rhythms, and winding melodies are sure to satisfy his listeners but there are always a few surprises along the way.

Life is about evolving and as it happens with a lot of artists, only DJ’ing wasn’t enough for Weird Sounding Dude's musical odyssey, so he embarked on a journey to prove his worth as a self-taught music producer. Weird Sounding Dude has always enjoyed a place in the underground dance music culture with performances at music festivals such as Anjunadeep Open Air, Vh1 Supersonic, Sunburn, Satellite Beachside, R.E.S.E.T., La Foresta (Sri Lanka), Voodoos Fest (Sri Lanka), Ctrl Alt Dance, Krank, Locals District, Lost & Found Showcase (Goa, India) and played at some of the most celebrated venues across India. Weird Sounding Dude has had the privilege to share the decks with Ben Bohmer, Cristoph, Jody Wisternoff, Guy J, Yotto, Nick Warren, Sebastien Leger, Cubicolor, Nils Hoffmann, Nox Vahn, Mind Against, Braxton, Khen, Enamour, Jerome Isma-Ae, Stan Kolev, Jimpster, Vaal, Dauwd, BOg, to name a few. 2023, is off to a great start for Weird Sounding Dude as he is all set for his first tour of Australia and New Zealand.

It's safe to say that, Weird Sounding Dude's musical expedition has slowly started to take shape with no intention of slowing down.

Three months on from his truly historic 5-hour marathon set at the open-air Tres Aguas venue in Cordoba, Argentina at the start of 2012, UK legend John Digweed looks back and then forward as he prepares to share the magic and indulge those not fortunate enough to attend that unforgettable January night. Heute vor einer Woche habe ich mich gefühlt wie im Möhrchen und dafür bin ich dem Wilde Möhre Festival unendlich dankbar! ❤️🙏🏻

Liebe Möhren, ihr habt mir und euren Gästen etwas zurückgegeben, das ich bereits vor Monaten für die absehbare Zukunft verloren geglaubt habe: die Hoffnung darauf, ein Festival erleben zu dürfen. Das war ein wundervolles und wichtiges Zeichen und ich bin sehr froh, dass ihr diesen mutigen und steinigen Weg gegangen seid und uns diese Realitätsflucht ermöglicht habt. Klopft euch ruhig mal auf beide Schultern für das, was ihr in diesem Jahr alles aus dem Hut gezaubert habt! 🎩

Ebenso dankbar bin ich allen Künstler*innen, deren Sets ich lauschen durfte oder die ich – genau wie einige Bekannte – getroffen habe sowie allen Gästen, die zu dieser schönen Stimmung während meines Sets beigetragen und die milde zur wilden Möhre gemacht haben – davon werde ich noch lange zehren! Und ihr hoffentlich auch durch meine Aufnahme. Und ich hoffe, sie regt auch zum Nachdenken an.

ABOUT OTTAWA PROG VIBES

Alain M.'s weekly podcast, Ottawa Prog Vibes, is now in its 7th year and is a recognized presence among Canadian Electronica shows. The show has two goals: showcase progressive DJ's from Ottawa (and Canada) to a global audience, and bring international DJ guests to an Ottawa (and Canadian) audience). 

Alain plays three out of every 10 shows. His mixing has been noted as particularly creative and smooth, a skill that allow his sets to be experienced as seamless stories.

An offshoot series, called Mellow Prog Vibes, is released every two weeks and focuses on more chill vibes, slightly more downtempo, to create a more relaxed vibe. It is curated by OPV resident DJ Boraa, who plays every other episode, with guest DJs playing the alternate.

Ottawa Prog Vibes and Mellow Prog Vibes are broadcast weekly on UK's Saturo Radio, New York's Chill Lover Radio and Ottawa's Blast the Radio.


ABOUT ALAIN M.

Alain M. started dj’ing in his early 20s and played a variety of clubs, big and small, in Ottawa, Montreal and Kingston. From teenage influences in progressive rock, metal and blues, and later New York and Chicago house, Dutch techno and early trance, his style has evolved towards the more melodic, infectiously rhythmic and thoughtful sounds of progressive house, with a particular fondness for Argentinian productions.

Over his 30+ years as a DJ, Alain has cultivated a signature melodic, danceable, and thoughtful style with enough surprises to keep even the most devout listeners on their toes. His live events, organized only a few times annually, are a hypotonic, transformational experience for attendees, putting the Nation’s Capital on the map for electronic music. He has organized and collaborated in a number of events including Levitar, Sunday Meet & Beat, Sit-Down Sessions, Shake my Thursday and Expeditions, attracting a thoughtful crowd who stay mesmerized by his melodic, danceable sets, always peppered with delightfully unexpected sonic elements.

Alain M. is also a guest DJ submitting regular sets to several radio and online outlets. He is a resident on X-Beat Radio (France, Belgium). He was a monthly resident on Abyss Sound Experience on QuestLondon Radio in 2021 and on UK-based Beach Radio between 2021 and 2024.

He has appeared as a guest on a number of shows in several countries including the UK, Argentina, Spain, Poland, Brazil, Sri Lanka, Peru, Turkey, Israel and the US. In Canada, he has been featured as a guest DJ at several events by Ottawa-based Music.Art.Ppl, on CHUO FM’s Vanguard Pulse Radio, on CKCU FM’s Lost In Bass and Mapped Out Radio, on Montreal’s Afterhour radio show and on Toronto’s ION radio show.
