Ottawa Prog Vibes had been pining for a British guest DJ for some time and can’t think of a better first than Manchester’s @djandyclayton. I have been following Andy for some time and have become a fan of his. He is a masterfully talented DJ and an incomparable music selector.

Andy has been a DJ for over 20 years and specialises in melodic progressive house. Acclaimed for his mixing skills and ability to blend beats, driving basslines, percussion and synth vibes to create deeply hypnotic and immersive musical journeys, he has performed live at high profile events throughout the UK including the Creamfields Festival and the BPM Expo.

Based part time in Spain, Andy plays live sets across the Costa Blanca’s best music venues including Floridita, El Martillo, MyWay, The Oceana Club and BrewRock Beach Club. 

His sets are in demand globally. He is a resident DJ on Beach Radio and on Quantum Radio. He also provides regular guest mixes for Colombia’s Settumps Radio, Ibiza Stardust Radio, Argentina’s Timeless Radioshow and Amsterdam’s Radio Deep Mode. He has provided guest mixes for the @melodicbeatsmusic global podcast series and record label founded by legendary DJ/Producer Paul Honey (a series that features an unrivalled array of world class DJs including former Renaissance residents). He has two entries in Amsterdam’s renowned @melodicdeep Talent Podcast.

His work has included guest mixes in Australia, Dubai, Italy, Malta, Spain, Brazil, with more to come. Andy will return to playing live club events internationally with some very special shows and exciting new ventures planned for 2021 and beyond.

This is Andy’s first Canadian guest spot and Ottawa Prog Vibes is honoured to feature him.

ABOUT OTTAWA PROG VIBES

Alain M.'s weekly podcast, Ottawa Prog Vibes, is now in its 7th year and is a recognized presence among Canadian Electronica shows. The show has two goals: showcase progressive DJ's from Ottawa (and Canada) to a global audience, and bring international DJ guests to an Ottawa (and Canadian) audience). 

Alain plays three out of every 10 shows. His mixing has been noted as particularly creative and smooth, a skill that allow his sets to be experienced as seamless stories.

An offshoot series, called Mellow Prog Vibes, is released every two weeks and focuses on more chill vibes, slightly more downtempo, to create a more relaxed vibe. It is curated by OPV resident DJ Boraa, who plays every other episode, with guest DJs playing the alternate.

Ottawa Prog Vibes and Mellow Prog Vibes are broadcast weekly on UK's Saturo Radio, New York's Chill Lover Radio and Ottawa's Blast the Radio.


ABOUT ALAIN M.

Alain M. started dj’ing in his early 20s and played a variety of clubs, big and small, in Ottawa, Montreal and Kingston. From teenage influences in progressive rock, metal and blues, and later New York and Chicago house, Dutch techno and early trance, his style has evolved towards the more melodic, infectiously rhythmic and thoughtful sounds of progressive house, with a particular fondness for Argentinian productions.

Over his 30+ years as a DJ, Alain has cultivated a signature melodic, danceable, and thoughtful style with enough surprises to keep even the most devout listeners on their toes. His live events, organized only a few times annually, are a hypotonic, transformational experience for attendees, putting the Nation’s Capital on the map for electronic music. He has organized and collaborated in a number of events including Levitar, Sunday Meet & Beat, Sit-Down Sessions, Shake my Thursday and Expeditions, attracting a thoughtful crowd who stay mesmerized by his melodic, danceable sets, always peppered with delightfully unexpected sonic elements.

Alain M. is also a guest DJ submitting regular sets to several radio and online outlets. He is a resident on X-Beat Radio (France, Belgium). He was a monthly resident on Abyss Sound Experience on QuestLondon Radio in 2021 and on UK-based Beach Radio between 2021 and 2024.

He has appeared as a guest on a number of shows in several countries including the UK, Argentina, Spain, Poland, Brazil, Sri Lanka, Peru, Turkey, Israel and the US. In Canada, he has been featured as a guest DJ at several events by Ottawa-based Music.Art.Ppl, on CHUO FM’s Vanguard Pulse Radio, on CKCU FM’s Lost In Bass and Mapped Out Radio, on Montreal’s Afterhour radio show and on Toronto’s ION radio show.

VEGA (AU) is a longtime electronic music enthusiast and DJ with a flair for sophisticated sounds that delve into earthy organic and afro house percussions, to soulful deep/lounge and jazz house grooves, vibrant nu-disco, as well as ranging in atmospheric melodic, breakbeat and progressive house. 

Based in Melbourne, Australia, his sound has been influenced over the years from iconic labels including Anjunadeep, All Day I Dream, Large Music and Be Adult Music and is naturally drawn to track selections that evoke an emotive and atmospheric tone.

He has played in several of Melbournes' sought after nightspots including my aeon, Howler, Top Yard, and Brown Alley, where he has made support appearances on Anjunadeep event linups for artists such as Nox Vahn and CRi. Vega (AU) previously held monthly residencies at some of Melbourne's top venues including the balearic summer river bar 'Arbory Afloat' and the intimate 'Music Room' at HER Bar as a member of @floatingdreamsmusic. 

Floating Dreams are a collective of five passionate DJs who specialise in DJing and hosting organic, melodic and deep house centric events in Melbourne. Over the past several years, the group has funded and held a series of day party and evening events at Brunswick's Howler, with headline artists including Anjunadeep's Dee Montero, Blake. 08 and M.O.S., as well as Double Touch [All Day I Dream].
