Our first guest of the year is an incredibly talented lady whose sounds are filled with deep and melodic progressive house combined with melodic techno, tech house, deep house, organic house and adding different shades of electronic music.

Daria Fomina was born in the Moscow region. She graduated as a teenager from music school in piano. Her inspiration in electronic music includes Robert Miles, Radiohead, Enigma, Massive Attack, Prodigy, André Tanneberger, Tiësto, Markus Schulz, Ferry Corsten, Armin Van Buuren, Paul Oakenfold, John Digweed, Sasha, Deep Dish, Pole Folder, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Sébastien Léger, Guy J among others. 

At first she played on several radio stations and hosted various exclusive podcasts. At the moment, Daria is a resident on Frisky Radio (US), where she hosts a two-hour podcast where she invites unique, talented DJs and music producers on her show Oxygen and on DI.FM Progressive Channel (US), Subcode Radio (UK) and DNA Radio FM (AR) where she hosts her one-hour show Purple Sky. 

Daria has played at Amsterdam Dance Event, Burning Man Project, Hungary and other dance venues in Moscow and Russian cities. Also, since April 2024 she has been a resident at the Moscow City Space Bar & Restaurant, which is located on the 34th floor in Swissotel Krasnye Holmy. You can enjoy a magnificent view of the centre of Moscow and its attractions to the beautiful melodies of organic and progressive house, which she plays every week.

Hailing from Lille, France, Clawz SG has been an avid electronic music enthusiast from a young age. His passion for producing was initially something he engaged in purely for himself and his friends, however after much support and encouragement, he finally decided to take that final leap, thus paving way for the birth of Clawz SG. 

Clawz SG stays true to his roots and remains an old school synth aficionado, having collected an impressive selection of numerous analogue vintage synthesizers over the years. His name has become synonymous with the Deep House and Melodic Techno sounds of today. 

His debut release with Parquet Recordings in 2014, was a significant milestone clocking up two highly acclaimed collaborated tracks titled “Obvious” and “Abyss”. The success from Parquet 082 cemented a solid springboard for his musical art form and opened the flood gates to a succession of accomplished releases. To date he has remixed and produced originals with a number of well-established labels and his creative aspirations have compelled him to embark on a new and exciting phase of his career by joining the Steyoyoke Recordings family. 

With numerous releases and EPs under his belt, broadening his career will never change Clawz SG’s deep-seated morals or values. He’s an individual with strong family ties, even dedicating an entire EP to his family and proudly upholds many noble attributes within all his professional connections, which assures lasting relationships and solid honest partnerships within the industry. 

With all these positive traits and artistic facets to boast, Clawz SG has definitely found kindred spirits in his alliance with the Steyoyoke family. 2024 is looking bright with a new album on the horizon.

Ezequiel Anile and Nicolas Petracca, aka EANP, are a duo of Argentine DJ / Producers that have been working together since 2014. Back to Europe this week to welcome @stalwarts from Minsk. Alex has been interested in electronic music since his youth, being a supporter of trance and progressive styles since the early 2000's after his introduction to Tiesto compilations. Alex's musical preferences were shaped by such musicians and projects as Lange, Ferry Corsten, Gosmic Gate, Rank 1, Markus Schulz, Solarstone and other representatives of the trance scene. In 2008 and 2009, under the nickname “The Stalwarts” Alex took part in the projects “Belarus In The Mix 001” and “Belarus In The Mix 002” on Internet radio station Afterhours.fm (AH.FM), in which he took first place according to voting by Internet listeners. Over time, influenced by the work of Gai Barone, Hernan Cattaneo and Guy J, Alex’s musical taste evolved towards the progressive sound.

Alex is rapidly rising in the music arena, performing on the same stage with such high-profile representatives of progressive house as Dmitry Molosh and Kostya Outta. In November 2024 Alex and Kostya Outta jointly released their massive track “New Dimension” on the UV Noir label.

Born and raised in Ottawa, our guest Tr!ck (@pat-desjardins-417664196) has had a passion for music for as long as he can remember. Playing music out of a 2-deck tape recorder to his neighbours, Trick decided in 2016 to take a DJ class which resulted in opportunities to play in local clubs, south of the border, in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Getting to play alongside local and international artists (Nora En Pure, Rezz, Adventure Club, etc…) he loves to play all styles of house depending on the mood. In his mixes he likes to tell somewhat of a story, and take you on a journey.

Casnik (Nicolás Castillo) is an Argentine DJ and music producer, originally from City Bell, La Plata. From a young age, music resonated with him in a profound way. He expressed these inner sensations through movement, drawing inspiration from the artistry of Michael Jackson, and pursued dance training while exploring diverse musical genres to grasp their core essence and the varied states of mind they evoke.

In 2019, Casnik shared stages with prominent national artists in the club circuit, including Elio Riso, Jay de Lys, Bodeler, Matias Sundblad, LeFrak, among others.

He has also held prominent roles on booths across multiple cities, such as San Pedro, Mercedes, Azul, Tandil, Olavarría, La Plata, Mar del Plata, Pinamar, and Monte Hermoso, showcasing his versatility and stage presence.

The year 2020 marked his exploration of new genres, notably Progressive House and Melodic House, broadening his sonic palette.

In 2021, he relocated to Tulum, expanding his horizons and pursuing his artistic objectives by performing in clubs across Playa del Carmen, Holbox, and Tulum. There, he shared lineups with international acts including Pan-Pot, Roy Rosenfeld, Marcel Dettmann, Armen Miran, Sam Sure, Gux Gimenez, and Adi Dassler, among others.


By 2023, Casnik focused intently on music production, releasing tracks and EPs on labels such as Mango Alley, Balkan Connection, Sunexplosion, 3rd Avenue, BC2, The Purr, Dreamers, Anoka, Soundteller, Symmetric, SLC-6, AH Digital, Future Avenue, Droid9, Noise In Harmony among others, further establishing his presence in the electronic music scene.

ABOUT OTTAWA PROG VIBES

Alain M.'s weekly podcast, Ottawa Prog Vibes, is now in its 7th year and is a recognized presence among Canadian Electronica shows. The show has two goals: showcase progressive DJ's from Ottawa (and Canada) to a global audience, and bring international DJ guests to an Ottawa (and Canadian) audience). 

Alain plays three out of every 10 shows. His mixing has been noted as particularly creative and smooth, a skill that allow his sets to be experienced as seamless stories.

An offshoot series, called Mellow Prog Vibes, is released every two weeks and focuses on more chill vibes, slightly more downtempo, to create a more relaxed vibe. It is curated by OPV resident DJ Boraa, who plays every other episode, with guest DJs playing the alternate.

Ottawa Prog Vibes and Mellow Prog Vibes are broadcast weekly on UK's Saturo Radio, New York's Chill Lover Radio and Ottawa's Blast the Radio.


ABOUT ALAIN M.

Alain M. started dj’ing in his early 20s and played a variety of clubs, big and small, in Ottawa, Montreal and Kingston. From teenage influences in progressive rock, metal and blues, and later New York and Chicago house, Dutch techno and early trance, his style has evolved towards the more melodic, infectiously rhythmic and thoughtful sounds of progressive house, with a particular fondness for Argentinian productions.

Over his 30+ years as a DJ, Alain has cultivated a signature melodic, danceable, and thoughtful style with enough surprises to keep even the most devout listeners on their toes. His live events, organized only a few times annually, are a hypotonic, transformational experience for attendees, putting the Nation’s Capital on the map for electronic music. He has organized and collaborated in a number of events including Levitar, Sunday Meet & Beat, Sit-Down Sessions, Shake my Thursday and Expeditions, attracting a thoughtful crowd who stay mesmerized by his melodic, danceable sets, always peppered with delightfully unexpected sonic elements.

Alain M. is also a guest DJ submitting regular sets to several radio and online outlets. He is a resident on X-Beat Radio (France, Belgium). He was a monthly resident on Abyss Sound Experience on QuestLondon Radio in 2021 and on UK-based Beach Radio between 2021 and 2024.

He has appeared as a guest on a number of shows in several countries including the UK, Argentina, Spain, Poland, Brazil, Sri Lanka, Peru, Turkey, Israel and the US. In Canada, he has been featured as a guest DJ at several events by Ottawa-based Music.Art.Ppl, on CHUO FM’s Vanguard Pulse Radio, on CKCU FM’s Lost In Bass and Mapped Out Radio, on Montreal’s Afterhour radio show and on Toronto’s ION radio show.
