In a change from my usual record in one live take this was recorded in two stages. I used both VCV Rack and Ongaku from Giorgio Sancristoforo; https://www.giorgiosancristoforo.net. As both are running as stand alone instruments I cant record them simultaneously.  Having a good idea of how the two would fit together I was able to record the VCV elements then play them back and add Ongaku. Additional effects were then added to the Ongaku part, this was planned for in advance. For the final mix I copied a couple of them to one of the VCV elements to blend across the transition.

Stars on the Pond - (Naviarhaiku - 561)

I composed and arranged this piece 10 years ago. I wrote it for my baby nephew Idris... Well, baby he was, at the time. He's 10 now and I figured that since I really wanted this piece of music to last forever, I should upgrade its sound.

The original 2014 version was created with the "Music Studio" app on the iPad and I have just merely begun my interest in composing music. Despite the fact that I do not have any means of training in music theory nor handling any instruments. I was pretty much amazed on how I could take 4 measly little notes and expanded it into a full marching orchestra. Henceforth, my musical journey commenced...

Since then, I've gotten myself some decent VSTs and a reliable DAW. So, upon its 10-year anniversary, here's my latest remastered version of "The Idris March".  (*** Note: You can also scroll down to my library list and listen to the original 2014 version and hear the difference.)

The Idris March (2025 Remastered Version)

A composer who does not know how to read & write note music, nor to play any musical instrument.  Thanks to modern technology though, I've found the midi tools & VST Instruments to transfer the music from my busy head to actual audible tunes.
