Just a lil' bit of loosey-goosey wicki-wicki wahhh-wahhh on the trusty Technics SL-1210MK5 1's & 2's. This was done expressly in order to hear some nice music songs back to myself... music songs which are in my collection of vinyl records because I had bought each of them at various times in the past. Having pressed the record button on my trusty high resolution audio recorder device before I started playing them, I had in the end precipitated the existence of a recording of about 2 hours in duration. That being because that was how long I was playing them for. Having heard back the vibes in this witches brew, I decided to upload it for me and for you.

One of several sets I played at the awesome Bar 25th in Belgrade, Serbia 🇷🇸, an underground music bar/club that sits on the right bank of the Sava River at the confluence point with the Danube River. This one was recorded outside by the river bank for sunset. I later played a set inside the club but it was not recorded.

NWS : "Hey Vlady, it’s wonderful to welcome you to the family and be a part of the quick development of your Nopi project. 6 months ago, you released your first free download on Deep House Toronto – now you have signed your music on top tier upcoming labels like Pipe & Pochet, Sag & Tre, Dream Culture, Seven Villas and now also on Nie Wieder Schlafen. Where did you come from? Is this your first producer project, or have you been doing stuff under a different alias before? If not, what made you suddenly take this route of an electronic producer?"

Nōpi : "Hello there! Yes I actually had one other project before, with a heavier sound. At a certain point, I just wanted to change something and started experimenting with a lot more atmosphere. I think you can hear that, with this project!"


NWS : "Ukraine is your home. Is there a growing scene for the dreamy, melodic house you produce?  If not -  do you see potential? How has your country influenced you, in your artistical progress?"

Nōpi : "Unfortunately, I don't know too much, about the scene here. We  don't have many places to play this kind of stuff! The ukrainian crowd is quite picky, in my opinion. But I really hope this situation will change in the future and people will be more involved in this kind of music. I actually never really had any inspirations, but rather tried to focus on my own sound."


NWS : "The music scene has always been polarizing - it can be a wonderful network of caring people and an energy-consuming grasp for attention. What is it about the electronic music scene that has impacted/influenced your life for the better and what is frustrating for you about it?"

Nōpi : "The music scene has certainly changed my character for the better! I really don't like all these people in the scene, hunting for money and glory, because it absolutely kills the community."


NWS : "Digital or Analogue? Are you a lover of Vinyls and old techniques, or do you rather like to concentrate on the future?" 

Nōpi : .I think nothing can or will replace Analogue, because that's how it all started! I'm always trying to use some analogue stuff in my tracks, to make them warm and glowy."


NWS: "You are joining our „No More Sleep“ – series, which tries to present more insightful mixes of the artists, who join our label. Can you tell us a little bit about the music you included in your mix?"

Nōpi : "I always try to select the tracks I truly love. Playing and selecting music suits me best, I can really express my feelings I have in that particular moment. Yes, I really felt like including a moody, dub-techno intro to the mix and then follow it up with my more melodic sound! I think, it was a nice touch to ease in the listener and show another side".


NWS: "We are getting excited for your release – Tell us about your „The Forest“ EP – any stories you can share, while making these 2 originals?"

Nōpi : "It was a hectic production time, when I made these, so I have a hard time, picking something in particular, but I can say that I wanted to create a softer, airy atmosphere with "The Forest". On top, I wanted a loose and subtle piano in major key, to give it this mysty vibe. As a complement, "Daynight" was meant to be more straight forward and groovy!"

Andy's career started out 16yrs prior in 1996 when he embarked on a monthly residency with Derby based club Progress. Visited by the countries leading Artists the likes of Pete Tong, Roger Sanchez, Judge Jules, Boy George, Tony De Vit & Danny Rampling. Through playing for the club over the years it would open many doors for other opportunities including sets in Ibiza. 

In 1998 Andy played for the world renowned Manumission at their pre-club venue Bar M. On a stormy night in late 1998 one of their Residents was unable to make it to the venue, so Andy was asked to cover and ended up playing the full 8hrs B2B with good friend Kris O' Rourke. Over the years that followed other venues would book him to play included Kanya, Bay Bar, Base Bar, The Orange Corner, Cadena Cien Radio and Ibiza Global Radio. In 2017 Andy was successful in being a finalist to play at the legendary Space Ibiza for the Carl Cox Revolution night. 

Fast forward to present day and Andy is currently working on further expansion of the Deeper Sounds In-Flight Radio Shows by adding more Airlines to host the shows. Continue growing the recently launched 'Imaginations' Radio Show on Frisky Radio which has featured to date the likes of Igor Marijuan, Nua, Urmet K and Quatri. Work has also started on the launch of Deeper Sounds Events which are currently in the early planning stages but are likely to start late 2019.

Resonance [Session XIII]

As with all of my mixes, but perhaps more so than any other... this one is a deep bastard - I'm talking "it would take 2 hours for a big fucking ship to strike the basin" deep.

A selection of older and newer material from the great ocean of techno. Opening with some glowing, deep and melodic sounds, we traverse through the razor sharp sonics of Quantec (a track from his new album, <a href="http://www.discogs.com/Quantec-1000-Vacuum-Tubes/release/3644316" target="_blank">1000 Vacuum Tubes</a>) and the minimal mystique of Grad_U to some blissed out and sublime electronic dub tracks including a classic cut from Rhythm & Sound.

A sequence of zoned-out atmospheric tech house brings this mix home with some very special new tracks on some of my favourite labels, including Telrae, Illian Tape and Echocord before we close up with an absolutely timeless track, "Evil Dub" taken from Swayzak's 1998 classic <a href="http://www.discogs.com/Swayzak-Snowboarding-In-Argentina/master/64157" target="_blank">Snowboarding In Argentina LP</a>.

Music collector, DJ and occasional artist/producer. DJ'ing since 1997, I play a wide range of music that is mainly focused on the deeper/dubbier shades of house, techno & electro. I also love all kinds of eclectic stuff including disco, boogie, Italo, synth pop, nu jazz, jazzdance, lounge, trip-hop, downtempo, dub, reggae, jungle, liquid drum & bass, IDM, electronica, Warp, Ninja Tune etc.

In summer 2013 I set up the Avenue Red (@avenue-red) imprint to push quality material from a wide plethora of DJs and artists who I have particular respect for in terms of their musical output, artistry and dedication to the cause.
