Young Kasper, born Kyle Esguerra, is a hip-hop musician from Los Angeles, California, who has been writing and recording since high school.
In 2005, after graduation from high school, he attended college and subsequently dropped out of school. Young Kasper left home at the age of 19 and pursued a career in the Philippines, branching out and focusing on music, acting and modeling. In the Philippines, Young Kasper joined Starstruck 4: The Next Level, a popular talent show, where he gained an international following. Young Kasper experienced the loss of his father soon thereafter, making him realize the importance of family, a recurrent theme in his music.
Young Kasper claims he maintains blends hip-hop with radio hype, finding a balance between the two. “I’m not the type to say, ‘I hate commercial music,’ because I don’t. I’m also not the type to say, ‘I will always be underground.’ Good music is good music,” explains the artist.
Young Kasper’s influences include Eminem. In addition to his own career, he also sees himself writing music for pop and R&B artists.
