The festive season is here and I just hit 2 million plays, so it's a double celebration. Now if, like me, you think that nothing says Christmas like a bit of soul-crushingly dark techstep then I'm sure this festive offering won't disappoint. Indeed, this idea is one I've been sat on for a while; my mixing habits have definitely slowed this year but I really wanted to grind a decent one out before 2025. 

The mix rationale then. Caught up somewhere between my 500th listening of Trace & Ed Rush's legendary '97 One In The Jungle set, and the preceding year's Tech Steppin compilation, I found myself asking a simple question. What if the legendary (and it really is fucking legendary) 'No U-Turn Experience' mix had been made a year earlier? The No U-Turn Experience '96 [2M Plays Xmas Special]

The Late Nights at Speed mix was put together by producer and DJ, Daniel Maunick otherwise known as Venom. With connections to labels ranging from Ibiza Records to Talkin Loud, Daniel was heavily involved in the 90s drum and bass scene producing his own music and teaching artists how to use samplers and recording equipment.

This mix is inspired by his visits to Speed at the Mars Bar, the legendary night led by LTJ Bukem and Fabio.
