this is the set liveset I played on the 4d system in amsterdam during my residency in April 2014. 
Equipment used: MFB Tanzbär, Clavia Nordrack2, TeenageEngineering OP-1, Arturia Microbrute and AbletonLive as master clock, sampler and midi sequencer. 

Everything on the 4D sound was tweaked by hand in real-time, as well as the whole arrangement. I preprogrammed some chords and grooves on my machines though. 

The 4D System is an advanced spatial sound system and the set is binaural (also called dummy head) recorded - in order to get an idea of how it sounded you need to use your headphones.

Welcome Alex Preda Einmusika. The Amsterdam based producer comes up with a melodic and dreamy EP for the summer. "Mind Program" is groovy and has a lot of playful lead melodies next to deep pads. "Before Sunrise" starts exciting and mysterious and then opens up some wonderful 80's textures. "After Midnight" is more functional and works perfect for groovy set's on a sunny afternoon.

“Render”, an atmospheric banger in which the delicate arpeggio’s keep pushing you forward. The shimmering lead gives this track a very unique soundscape. The break really pulls you in deep, only to drop you right back into the action at the climax.

Sometimes we like to dig deep in the dirt, for those small hidden golden nuggets. And this time we struck some serious gold.

Tulum returns once again to Pursuit with the mighty Busca. This out of rhythm lead will get stuck into your head like a splinter in the mind. Authentic and euphoric, all combined into one journey for the soul.

The talented studio wizard Alex Preda joins Pursuit for his interpretation of Busca, who dials up the tempo and brings us into synthwave territories with some serious attitude.

Closing off is Tulum with Old Tape. A warm groover bringing us into nostalgic waters with warm pads and translucent melodies. Another one for the books.

Alex Preda is a Romanian DJ and producer based in Amsterdam. His love for dance music began in the 1990s, with favorites like disco and dance- pop. In 2007, he moved to the Netherlands, where his sound evolved from the electronic sounds of Jean Michel Jarre and Vangelis to his signature driving techno, always with an element of warmth and melody.
