The flagship release of Re: Define Records. Enjoy the driving minimal techno of Dave Ruff as he brings it on strong, along with a moving remix from Alex Ridley. 'Hollow Dance' sets the pace of the release with dark, cerebral grooves that are to be expected with Dave Ruff and his signature sound. 'Morning Blurs' takes things further down the psychedelic rabbit-hole leading to a black corridor of quirky, dark minimal rhythms. Things continue to evolve as we arrive to a mischievously percussive minimal number that shreds forward, known as 'Much Is Unknown'. Alex Ridley then trails off with a sullen, more acidic reinterpretation with his 'Darkness Turkey Remix'.

Since 2001, he has carved out a distinct space in the techno landscape, focusing on techno and its variants—from driving hard techno to hypnotic and minimal strains—while also exploring the outer edges of ambient and IDM.

Now based in Edmonton, Canada, Alex brings a deep sense of purpose to both his productions and DJ sets. His music blends raw energy with meticulous sound design, channeling decades of underground influence into immersive dancefloor experiences and introspective sonic journeys.

He also curates a weekly radio show on CJUM 101.5FM (UMFM) every Friday night from 11 PM to 1 AM (Central Time). From a very young age, Alex Ridley always knew he wanted to write an artist bio. With inspirations stemming from the various artist bio’s of Ambivalent, Brad Lee, Chris Liebing, D.A.V.E. The Drummer, Julian Liberator, Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos, Speedy J, Sven Väth and Venetian Snares, Alex knew he would one day actualize his dreams of writing an artist bio that boasted both dynamic interest and well rounded innovation.

When he’s not aspiring to write an artist bio, Alex Ridley produces a wide variety of electronic music and has been doing so since 2001. (Where does the time go?!)

Alex Ridley also holds down his weekly radio show on Winnipeg’s 101.5FM, every Friday night from 11pm - 1am (Central Time).
