Volt5000 (@volt5000 and @mgxloop) and I are glad to present "Day by Day 5 (He-e-ey!)" (as track 6) of our collaborative album in progress "Day by Day". We acknowledge, with thanks, the use of vocal samples from MAGIX, integrated by Volt5000.

The track was created in collaboration on 26 May 2022 (initial composition, mix and recording by Volt5000 in MAGIX) and 27 May 2022 (subsequent composition, arrangement and recording in GarageBand and Logic Pro X by Alex M), with final mix on 29 May (in Logic Pro X by Alex M), and was posted here on SoundCloud on 3 June 2022 (by Alex M).

The artwork cover for the track uses a conceptual idea of Volt5000 of 6 May 2022, implemented by Alex M (in PowerPoint) on 7 May 2022, then cropped and annotated with text by Alex M (in Mac OS Preview) on 29 May 2022 - in coordination and agreement with Volt5000.

The composition was inspired by the poem "Crossing the Water" by the American poet Sylvia Plath (1932-1963).

Crossing the Water

Black lake, black boat, two black, cut-paper people.
Where do the black trees go that drink here?
Their shadows must cover Canada.

A little light is filtering from the water flowers.
Their leaves do not wish us to hurry:
They are round and flat and full of dark advice.

Cold worlds shake from the oar.
The spirit of blackness is in us, it is in the fishes.
A snag is lifting a valedictory, pale hand;

Stars open among the lilies.
Are you not blinded by such expressionless sirens?
This is the silence of astounded souls.

Crossing the Water

Dan or DAN-DT (@Dan-T-3) and I are happy to release our new collaboration also featuring Laura (record of 2018 from Dan's database) under the title of "What Have You Done?". He surprised me pleasantly by mixing my instrumental composition "Stay with Me" of 3-4-5 March 2024 and posted here on SC on 7 March 2024 (https://soundcloud.com/alexander-mihailov-96713983/stay-with-me) with added synthesisers and arrangements by Dan on 22 March 2024 and incorporating as well vocal samples with the beautiful voice of Laura, with final mix by DAN-DT on 10 April 2024. We hope that you will enjoy this sad and dreamy song.

The painting in the artwork cover for the track was created by DAN-DT on 22 March 2024, and then the artwork cover was annotated in Mac OS Preview by Alex M on 10 April 2024 - in coordination and agreement with DAN-DT.

I have always admired music, of diverse styles. Like most of us, I have tried learning to play a few instruments at a basic level in my teenage. But it is only now, in the 21st century, that modern software allows anyone to fool around being the composer, the designer of a whole composition, simpler or more complex, organising together the parts of the various instruments - and to hear the results of this experimentation or inspiration instantly! That is how I have recently begun enjoying the distraction of attempts at composing during my leisure, discovering an amazing dimension of life, and art, perhaps the most intangible, heightening and hypnotising one, and the closest to the soul... (21 August 2017) ... Forgot to mention: music is for sharing - that's why we are all here! (4 September 2017)
