This is another track, "Hoping for the Future", in my almost completed concept album "Again" (2025). The track was composed spontaneously in GarageBand iOS in the late evening of 6 April 2025 (in Sofia, as most of the tracks in this album, hence its title: returning from south England to the city of my childhood and youth every 2-3 months for briefer or longer visits to my declining mother - but in various periods of time over the past year or so) and recorded and mixed in Logic Pro on 22 April 2025. It was released here on SoundCloud in the early afternoon (in Europe) of 26 April 2025.

The artwork cover for the album and all tracks in it uses a photo of mine of 1 June 2024 (shot in Sofia: the typical pattern of sidewalks there) I cropped and annotated in Mac OS Preview on 2 June 2024 and again on 15 February 2025 (to change the year of the - expected - album release from 2024 to 2025).

""A Change Is Gonna Come" is a song by American singer-songwriter Sam Cooke. It initially appeared on Cooke's album Ain't That Good News, released mid-February 1964 by RCA Victor; a slightly edited version of the recording was released as a single on December 22, 1964. Produced by Hugo & Luigi and arranged and conducted by René Hall, the song was the B-side to "Shake".

The song was inspired by various events in Cooke's life, most prominently when he and his entourage were turned away from a whites-only motel in Louisiana. I have always admired music, of diverse styles. Like most of us, I have tried learning to play a few instruments at a basic level in my teenage. But it is only now, in the 21st century, that modern software allows anyone to fool around being the composer, the designer of a whole composition, simpler or more complex, organising together the parts of the various instruments - and to hear the results of this experimentation or inspiration instantly! That is how I have recently begun enjoying the distraction of attempts at composing during my leisure, discovering an amazing dimension of life, and art, perhaps the most intangible, heightening and hypnotising one, and the closest to the soul...
