Es geht in die nächste Runde. Nachdem in der Rave.Werk Series 001 - 005 ein Großteil unserer hauseigenen Künstler zum Zuge kamen, gehen wir jetzt den nächsten Step. 
PCS: Die Pangaea Cargo Series schließt nahtlos an und erweitert unser Spektrum um befreundete Künstler*innen und neuem Artwork. Wie es sich für Cargo gehört, hat jede*r eine hochbrisante Fracht dabei, in Form einer eigenen Interpretation von elektronischer Musik. Aber keine Angst, die Rave.Werk Series ist damit nicht beendet und wird Euch immer mal wieder unerwartet überraschen.
Den Anfang macht kein geringerer als #Lockertmatik aka. Kryptic Universe. Wir freuen uns mega darüber, dass er mit seinem Label unsere Reihe eröffnet.
Geboren und aufgewachsen in Dresden kam er auch über das Radio schon zeitig mit EBM, Acid und dem frühen Detroit Techno in Kontakt. Mit dem bahnbrechenden X-101 Album von Underground Resistance war es für ihn klar, das Platten her mussten.
1992 begann er in den Chillouts diverser Clubs bevor er 1995 zum Crew Member und Resident im bekannten Plastic Phreak wurde. Es blieb dann natürlich nicht aus, dass er auch begann, in Plattenläden zu arbeiten. 1998 im Humpty Records und später im Hard Wax Dresden. 
Als Producer sind seine Veröffentlichungen auf mehreren Labels zu finden unter anderm MORD, MDR, Shtum.

It's time for the next turn. After the Rave.Werk Series 001 - 005 featured the majority of our own artists, we are now taking the next step. 
PCS: The Pangaea Cargo Series follows seamlessly and expands our spectrum with friendly artists and fresh artwork. As you would expect from a cargo, each artist has a highly explosive cargo with them, in the form of their interpretation of electronic music. But don't worry, the Rave.Werk Series doesn't end there and will surprise you unexpectedly every now and then.
First up is none other than Lockertmatik aka Kryptic Universe. We are very happy that he is opening our series with his label.
Born and raised in Dresden, he came into contact with EBM, Acid and early Detroit Techno via the radio. With the groundbreaking X-101 album by Underground Resistance, it was clear to him that records had to be made.
In 1992 he started out in the chillouts of various clubs before becoming a crew member and resident at the well-known Plastic Phreak in 1995. Of course, he also started to work in record stores. First in 1998 at Humpty Records and later at Hard Wax Dresden. 
As a producer, his releases can be found on several labels, including MORD, MDR and Shtum.

Tresor has had a huge influence on me since I first started listening to Techno and so this gave me a great opportunity to showcase that. Oliver Hafenbauer is a Frankfurt originated and based DJ who holds a residency at the highly respected Robert Johnson club and not only has he been spinning there since the club opened its doors in 1999, he also has taken on a further role of label’s A&R and club booker. Hafenbauer is also in charge of his own imprint Die Orakel where you can find releases from artists such as Edward, Orson Wells and Christopher Rau.

"Basically I like all kinds of repetitive music, and always trying to combine all genres in one night or set". - By combining the best traditions of techno, house, nu disco and electro with a flawless selection for Bassiani’s 13th podcast Robert Johnson resident brings us a very interesting and downtempo mix concentrated more melody and groove.

SAAZ AND VOICE (Nazar - Kurdistan - Iraq) : this is an Oriental lute with strings producing  a very open and distinctive  sound. Some keys are at the interval of a fourth of tone according to the tradition of a large region that includes the Middle East and part of the Mediterranean. The tunes that Nazar sings and plays are very ancient but sound extremely lively even to our modern ears.
KEYBOARDS (Maurizio Dami - Firenze - Italy): they represent the “primordial soup”, the sound of “reality as it is”, unaffected by history and culture. They provide the “glue” and  create the environment where  tunes can swim like fish in the water.
KEYBOARDS and VOCAL (Smail Kouider Aissa, Algeria) : They represent the dialogue amongst different Mediterranean cultures and the gateway to the Arab world. Smail comes from Algerian Rai.
TABLAS ( Arup Kanti Das, Rashmi v. Bhatt, India): the most typical and universally famous Indian percussions need no further presentation. Due to their precise tuning they are not only rhythmic but also harmonic instruments.

Credibility is a curse. For some reason, I always have an innate pressure to play new and credible tracks. I often found myself searching hours on end for new tracks before a gig, and trying very hard to create something truly special and unique during the show, only to eventually getting frustrated mid set that I'm not fully feeling my own vibe. Somehow, my brain thinks that playing a 'hit' or flat out banger is the easy way out, and other people might think less of that choice, effectively shackling me in my own selection.

Last week,Birdcage Radio last minute asked me to fill in a vacant spot on their Twitch channel. Normally, I always prepare every show and try to create something new every single time, but being asked so short notice I could not prepare myself that well this time. In a way, this gave me the freedom to browse through old lists and simply select tracks that felt right for that moment.

The result is this eclectic mix of old and new favourites, some breakbeats, some weird deep stuff, and mostly just stuff that I simply connect with. In all honesty, it is one of the most fun I've had playing out for quite an active online crowd. Thanks Nicolas and Rochelle for hosting me, and my friends (Bart, Hidde, Dennis, Jack) for tuning in.
