Premiere: Roman Lindau - Move [Second State Audio]

So here we go again with a release you've all been waiting for – a new EP on Formatik Records that's about to be hammered on huge floors for ages, prepared and crafted for maximum crowd impact at the studios of the highly successful, world-travelling DJ and producer duo known as FormatB.

We premiere the title track 'Okeey Yaaah' today and with this FormatB are serving a high octane weapon for all primetime jocks out there, amalgamating a stomping, slightly metallic technoid attitude sporting highly energetic percussion and cowbell layers, super precise scratch-emulations, elements of Hardbag House, Rave-resembling stabs and well-twisted, killer vocal bits for an extra power boost.

'Whippp', the second cut on this EP, comes across a little more playful in terms of attitude, riding the high energy wave on a super solid TechHouse foundation, re-arranging, cutting up and restructuring vocal samples featured in the title track and most importantly bringing in a massive trademark stab sequence for the glowstick and whistle crew that has already been on fire when huge raves originally were happening back in '92.

Here is their latest offering, this time by Lukas Lyrestam, the "Hang Around" EP, which features two original tracks, "Hang Around" and "Scandinavian Masters", as well as two remixes by Powel and Kask. The latter is the one premiered here, a dark and mighty techno cut. Available next week !

Subb-an making his debut on the Barcelona/Ibiza based outfit, leads with 'Do It'. He is joined by label fave Hector, who remixes 'Do it' on the B side. Stepping away from the label day job, Duncan Gray delivers an EP for Marseille label The Exquisite Pain. With that title, the track unsurprisingly has a retro slant to it, with FM-style keys and live instrumentation. Full of synaptic high filters and distant guitars that hang then soar, the unmistakeable bass of Mister Gray drives this curious musical timepiece. Simple oriental-flavoured melodies and pitch bent joystick waggles, the beautiful and poignant detail belies its subtle menace.
